The umbrella of 54" is a larger size, it is more suitable to use in the car, large enough for two. But it may a liitle heavy for traveling with your backpack. Q: After collapsed, can you manually push it back to open without having to fully closeit again first, for when the auto eventually stops working?

Dear Customer, After collapsed, if you manually push it back to open, it will not stay open. It is needed to manually push it back to full close it, so that the auto open function will work again. There is a black cloth label on the rib part of your Lanbrella, you can get in touch with us from the label. Just contact us directly with your Order ID and more details with what happening. Q: how much does it weigh?

I am not sure of the weight but compared to cheaper ones it is heavier. I noticed that immediately. I presume that it is due to the "steel" spokes.

Q: Will this holdup to the Chicago hawk(wind) ?

Umbrella did turn inside out during some heavy Chicago wind/rain, but quickly fixed and didn’t seem to damage the umbrella at all.
