I read hundreds of reviews on MANY magnesium products and ended up trying this one. So glad i did!! I've had lifelong constipation off and on and recently it became severe. Nearly 5 days, no movement...not even a whisper. Mind you, this was after over a month of taking a 50 Billion highly rated probiotic found on here--that was the beginning of where i now ended up. Also being older and not wanting to take an overkill of a chemical laxative that would cause abrupt relay races to the bathroom, i opted for this form of magnesium with doses i can control. I took two in the morning with a few bites of food and though i heard tummy noises (no discomfort whatsoever happened) but yet no movement by evening either. I read one review that stated if one was really bound up to take 4 in both a.m. and p.m. I took the calculated risk and took 4 in the evening with a larger dinner. I also drink A LOT of water daily normally but sipped on some more before bed. I had a lot of gut movement and noise (again, no discomfort whatsoever) before falling asleep. By morning i had some movement but not much. However, throughout the day and into the next, i continued to have more small movements. No racing to the bathroom like i was on fire. I didn't want to risk taking more that next day as i took a total of 6 in one day. NOT a recommended dose by the bottle....but i was desperate. 24 hours after that i took 2 at dinner. The next morning i woke to a NORMAL and uneventful movement. My guts are finally back to making normal noises along with my natural contractions moving things down the assembly line. I realize this is all pretty much TMI but if you're here and reading this, you are most likely in the same or similar boat and want to know if this stuff works. It's only been a few days for me but this supplement helped me immensely. I'll be taking 2 every p.m. and adjust accordingly along the way if needed. I'll also update this review with it's effectiveness over time. We all react differently to supplements and i hope this helps others as it did for me. My only advice is to take with food as i don't know if it would cause discomfort without, and seeing as how severe my problem was and taking the dose i did, most likely would have. If you stuck around this long, i pray this supplement works for you and my review hopefully helpful in some way.

I’ve been using Pure Encapsulations Magnesium Citrate for about a month, and overall it has been really beneficial. I feel less tense in my muscles and my sleep has improved. I wake up more refreshed. The capsule is gentle on my stomach; no GI upset so far, which is a big plus. There are a few things that keep me from giving it 5 stars: the size of the capsule is a bit large, which makes it slightly hard to swallow sometimes.
