Works as advertised, with some minor issues
I have a front yard gate that was often being left unlatched by delivery drivers as they exited my property. This gate self-closer solved that issue for me. It seems heavy duty and I expect it to last for many years.My only real criticism is one that I have seen mentioned in other reviews. Most of the holes that are intended for the stop pin (which locks in the right amount of tension) and the adjustment bar, are too small in diameter to be used. It may just be that the tolerances were made too tight to accommodate the layer of paint. I ended up using a smaller-diameter Allen wrench as the adjustment bar. Only one of the holes fit the stop pin, but it just happened to be the one I needed for the correct tension for my gate, so I didn't have to solve that problem.The self-closer seems heavy duty and of good quality. I expect it to last. If the manufacturer fixes the problem with the unusable stop pin holes, I would bump up my rating from four to five stars.

Correct install a must.
It closes the gate which is pretty heavy. Torsion adjust is a good feature. Be sure to install as directed for max operation.

Not as easy as I expected
Bought two, one was fine, the other the tightening pin wouldnt fit in the holes. On both, the mounting holes were positioned close to the spring, making it hard to tighten with my drill (finished tightening with a screw driver)

Poor instructions
The package nor spring unit had any marking to say which was the top. The only instructions I found was two statements on the back of the package. The instructions didn’t indicate what diameter hole to drill and I guessed a size too large for the screws to hold.
