Very happy with the case, pencils tips constantly break
I'll admit the main reason I bought this was that it was the only case design I liked that I found on Amazon. The case is perfect! It looks nice, it's compact, and I like the snap closure on it. I received my sharpener, which is very small, and was under the elastic. I wanted to note that as many reviewers say they never received a sharpener. The pencils are frustrating though. They keep breaking very easily. I can color for maybe a few seconds and the tip snaps off and I have to sharpen it again. I'm not being barbaric about it, either, lol. I will just buy a trusty pack of crayola and replace these pencils once they've all been sharpened down to nubs, which won't take long. So, if you are looking for a very good case, this is worth it if you like the price. Don't buy it for the pencils.

Update: The Fun Continued
I really enjoyed working with these Moore watercolor pencils. The rolled type case they come in is wonderful. I hung it on an “s” hook so it was close to my work space but not cluttering it. A pencil seen is a pencil used. You can also bend back the case and snap the strap so it’s half the length. I can then throw it over my knee and choose colors as needed. The pencils themselves are soft and smooth, with pigmentation. Some of the colors are downright beautiful like the turquoise, which when combined with a bright green makes a great leaf combination.I’ve had no trouble sharpening them but I use my own Prismacolor sharpener just out of habit but the Kum sharpener from Germany included is known to be a good one.I’m not an artist but an artistic person and have been using the watercolor pencils in my adult coloring books with good results applying water with a number 2 or 4 brush for leaves and flowers. It caused the color to become more vivid and blend out any grainy lines much like Gamsol does with wax core pencils. It’s subtle though and I’m not sure how movable the pigment is but for my needs, it’s just fine. I didn’t care for the brush included but it’s there as a reminder they are watercolor pencils after all and can be used in more than one way.The barrels don’t have a name or number but if they did, that would increase the price greatly and I really like that these pencils are budget friendly. The entire set of 48 Moore pencils with rolled pencil storage case, Kum sharpener and brush was a great value.Update: the fun continues!I snapped off two pencil points, put them in a tiny bottle cap, added a few drops of water and let them sit overnight and voila, I had paint. They didn’t totally dissolve but got nice and mushy. I was able to paint with it as pigment! So now I’ve got three uses for these pencils. I can use them solely as colored pencils, blend them out with water after coloring with them dry and use them as watercolor paint, much as I would with my tubes of paint. They may not compare with the small set of Faber Castell watercolor pencils (apples to oranges) I have but they are fun and worth the purchase.

Lovely Soft Colors
I bought two of these pencil sets for my grandkids this Christmas, and they love them. I tried them out myself, and found that they are very nice, they have a soft texture when coloring and lovely colors. Not as soft or vivid as Prismacolors, but I enjoyed the feeling of coloring with them, better then a lot of others. They come with a wonderful roll up case, which is fabulous to keep the pencils protected, and keep the kids organized. It also includes a tiny pencil sharpener, but it is a really good one, high quality. It's so little, at first I thought it wasn't there, but I found it under the elastic, totally hidden. I don't really think these pencils have any watercolor effect, unless I am doing something wrong, it does include a small paintbrush though. The pencils are unmarked, no color names or numbers, you can only go by the color of the pencil. It's a lovely set, a bargain with 48 pencils, the pencil wrap and the sharpener. I'm tempted to buy another set for myself.

So useful - perfect for kids
I bought this as a birthday present for a preschool-age kid who I was told was into drawing. Apparently he loved it so much he started bringing it to school every day and so my daughter had to have one too. So I got her one. She's been using it for 5 years now and it's the best. Any time I have to take her along with me to a meeting or class, this roll-up set of pencils always comes along and I get so many impressed comments about it. We aren't art-making experts so I can't speak to the absolute quality of the pencils in those terms but have been great for us.

My friend was happy with the quality and variety!
My coloring book enthusiast friend loved this portable set - the colors blended well enough and were fairly vibrant. Probably not the same quality one would get from a $55 set, but still good.I am glad I added it to her birthday basket!

Good start for any artist but very low quality
So these pencils are wax-based, I don't see any information about the type but usually if they don't say what type of binder it is you can assume it's going to be waxed based. These pencils are very cheap, they easily break so you have to be careful and slow when sharpening them. Don't ever drop them as the core of the pencil can get compromised and large portions of the core will simply slide out of the wood casing. The case these came in is good, again not the best quality but it's a good start.

Disappointed Missing Pieces
This product was supposed to have a sharpener. It was missing when we received the delivery. Makes the gift seem incomplete and defeats the purpose of it being something that can travel with you.I do not appreciate and think it is wrong that they advertise and describe it one way and then when it is recieved (as a gift for someone) it is not what was advertised.VERY DISAPPOINTED. I DEFINITELY should not have to go buy one to replace something I already paid for.
