Amazing noise cancellation!
I've always been a terribly light sleeper who wakes at every little sound, and I tried earplugs as a last-ditch effort to help me sleep through the night. I experimented with a bunch of different brands, but these are the holy grail for me. They're soft, comfortable, and relatively easy to apply. They really do cancel almost all noise and they actually stay in overnight, even for someone like me who moves around a lot in her sleep. My only tip is to make sure you really get them into your ears firmly so that they stay put and form a good seal. I fold mine in half lengthwise to make them pointier, and then slide them in and slightly diagonal towards my head; they feel a bit like a Q-tip in the ear for a few seconds when they're placed 'right', and then they expand from their folded shape into the perfect comfy seal for me. I can actually hear the noise progressively dying down as they expand when I place them correctly, which is super cool. They're great!

Average size, comfortable, good noise blocking
I spent hours, if not days, researching ear plugs on Amazon. I ended up with 8 different ear plugs because, well, I’m indecisive. Many of these didn’t work for me due to my own weird ear anatomy but I wanted to give my experience with each and what I’d recommend given your situation. Everything is subjective, but I hope this helps someone else as the previous reviews helped me. I’ll put my quick summary first and the details after for those wanting more info. *The pink ear plug is an average sized ear plug for size comparison. To summarize:If you have shorter ear canals and more sensitive ears I would recommend Mack’s Thermafit, adult/kids silicone ear plugs, or Hearos Softstar foam. If you have average ear canals and want the most noise blocking I would get Howard Leight. If you prefer contoured earplugs and find them to be the most comfortable then get Flents Protech Contour. If you have very narrow (but not short) ear canals, then get Mack’s slim fit or Flents Protech Sleeping.White Hearos Softstar foam:These ear plugs are wider than most but shorter and the foam is very soft. They are comfortable and didn’t hurt my ears, even when laying on my side. The foam is so light and fluffy though it lets in more noise than other ear plugs. If comfort is most important to you, you’re a side sleeper, and you don’t need complete silence, these are for you.Tan Mack’s Thermafit:This was the last pack of ear plugs I ordered to try and I finally found the right ones for me. The foam expands more quickly and is a bit rougher texture than others but once you get it in your ear it is just as comfortable at the Hearos and blocks as much (if not more) noise as Howard Leights and silicone. If you have short ear canals, want something comfortable that blocks out the most noise, try Mack’s thermafit.Purple Mack’s Slim fit:I have somewhat smaller ear canals but these were too narrow for me. They didn’t block any sound and despite them being thin, they are still long. If you have very narrow ear canals that are an average length, these would be a good choice for you.Dark Green Howard Leight low pressure:Howard Leights are soft and I found that they blocked out the most sound out of all the ear plugs I tried. They are a bit long for my ears but I just have short ear canals. If you have average ear canals and want the most noise blocking ear plugs, I would recommend these.Light Green Flents Protech Contour:I like contour ear plugs because my ears are sensitive. These are pretty large ear plugs and not the best for those with small ears. If you have average sized ear canals, are a side sleeper, or prefer contoured ear plugs, these are for you.Blue/White Flents Protech Sleeping:I thought these would be my Goldilocks ear plugs after I liked the regular Protech contour ones but found them to be too big. Well these were way too small. They fit in my ears easily but don’t block any noise, much like the slimfits. I can still hear the clock ticking, the traffic, my dog snoring everything. I’m so bummed! If you have tiny (and I mean tiny) ears and like the contoured foam, I would get these.Mack’s silicone ear plugs (orange kids and clear regular):As someone who generally hates having things deep in my ears, silicone ear plugs sounded like the way to go. I found the clear ones to be huge and I was having to cut them in half so I ended up getting the kids size. They are comfortable and are good for side sleeping. They also block out a lot of noise. My issue with these is that they tend to suction to your ear which is uncomfortable and you can hear your heart beating in your ears. I think it’s something you can get use to though. If you hate foam/regular ear plugs, have small or sensitive ears, and want to still block a lot of noise, I’d try these.Of all the ones I tried, I found Mack’s Theramfit to be the best all around.Happy sleeping!

Perfect earplugs!
I would never have thought of Howard Leight earplugs for sleeping use except for a reviewer that bought all these different earplugs and said what was good about each one. So I tried the 5 pack (10 earplugs). I've always had trouble with earplugs from the pharmacy falling out, hurting my canal or itching (one brand). I don't have a snoring partner to test against but do have an extremely annoying upstairs neighbor who stays up all night making all kinds of noises that used to make me so mad and upset I couldn't sleep. I only use in 1 ear and with my sound machine this does the trick without feeling it is even there. It doesn't cancel the noise so much that you can hear yourself breath like some do (I don't know how to explain it but it's weird). Also, FYI I got 25 pair on eBay for $6.99, they also give you choices of 50,100 or 200. :))

TERRIBLE QUALITY and cannot have a NRR OF 30
I was hoping these were a good brand, but sadly they are NOT! They are super porous, and lack the anywhere near a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 30! Tried these against the current ones I wear which are 32 and could here 100% more sound. As someone who’s been wearing earplugs for 25 years and have tried many brands, these are at the bottom of the list. Dissatisfied and disappointed.

Soft and Comfortable, but maybe a little too soft?
These ear plugs are super comfortable. They are small enough for my ear canals so that they do not cause me pain. They seem to cancel out noise pretty well--if I can get them in correctly, but only for one or two uses. Because they are so soft, if I don't get them in right the first time, when I try again, they often crinkle up in the ear canal. Thus they do not get pushed in all the way, and therefore do not cancel out noise. Then I have to start over with a new pair. They don't seem to last more than a couple of uses before they are way too soft to do any good. However, one thing I have learned from using these is that if my ear plugs are too large for my ear canal, they can't sufficiently cancel out noise because I can't push them in far enough into my ear canals. I finally realized I was constantly using ear plugs that were too large for me, and that constantly caused pain in my right ear. Even though these Howard Leight Honeywell Max Lite Low Pressure Ear Plugs are really soft, they work great when I can fit them far enough into my ear canals without them crinkling.

They work
My partner’s snoring is intense—like shake the room intense. These actually muffle the sound enough that I can relax and sleep. He likes them because they keep me from kicki—ahem—I mean, gently nudging him to roll over. Win, win.

Soft, will not hurt your ear.
My Husband went through a period where snoring was a side affect of his physical issues; these items saved me...and him lol. I had to have these to get through the night and I had dug up an old mismatched pair from around the house before ordering these, just to get through those first few days, and the other pair hurt my ears. These are soft, snug and work well.
