Good Towels(Mostly), Just One Issue
I had some old hand towels I wanted to replace since they literally were falling apart(they were ripping apart and had become glorified rags). I decided to try the 1888 Mills Organic Cotton Hand Towel Set in Green color. I gave them 3 months of daily use and laundry cycles before writing this review. They have been in a constant rotation in the bathroom since that time. Both green towels are now covered in pale yellow spots(the cause of which is not entirely obvious - the dye likely reacted to a skin toner/cleanser), which is not particularly attractive/pleasing. Initially they felt very soft, now the material appears/feels more used and less soft(which is disappointing yet should be expected). There are no other major signs of degradation. They are not super absorbent and at the same time they are light-weight, which is okay for me.As for the "organic" cotton these towels are supposedly made of, I can neither confirm nor deny it. The color dye used though is not the quality I would expect from a US manufacturer - I also bought a Pinzon(Amazon) Supima Cotton Bath Towel in a Yellow color which is not made in the US, the color of this Pinzon towel after 1 month is still the same.In the future I likely would buy just plain white towels from this manufacturer(1888 Mills), to avoid the color changing issue. These are available here on Amazon, but are made from African grown cotton.

Buying more of these!
Reviews are funny things, right? They're so ... subjective, LOL!I'm thinking, for example, of some of the reviews for 1888 Mills 100-Percent Organic Cotton Oversized Bath Towel Set of 2, Water Blue (I purchased the washcloths and hand towels). Some write that they have an unappealing odor, aren't thick or soft, and are not any larger than non-oversized items. None of that is my experience, LOL!I love these washcloths and hand towels. No odor, they exactly match the product description (size, quality, color, etc.), they're moderately thick, very soft, and ultra-absorbent, and the shade of light blue is a lovely, clear, soft baby-blue, not at all dusty or dull'ish. Now that I know this product's quality, I'm buying the bath towels to go with it. I would recommend this product to family and friends with no hesitancy whatsoever.UPDATE: NOW HAVE THE BATH TOWELS, TOO!Just received the bath towels and am pleased a punch. Again, no odor, no fraying, nothing unfit about them; they're beautiful and SO soft (just like the wash clothes and hand towels).Because some reviews report that the towels are not the size advertised, I decided to go ahead and measure mine, for the heck of it. Turns out they're BIGGER than advertised, not smaller. The length/width advertised is 54" long, 30" wide; but my new towels are 55 1/4" long, 30 1/8" wide.I am remain very pleased with my 1888 Mills wash clothes and hand towels (no fraying, no unravelling, no problems at all), and expect to be as happy with my matching 1888 Mills bath towels.

Well Made In The USA...but...
I purchased these after seeing this item on a different website that shows products "Made In USA". These washclothes are soft and thick upon arrival and the label states that they should be washed before using...so I did. No problem there. After using/washing for a couple of weeks, the 2 used the most show severe signs of fading/discoloration. One had been thrown in the laundry with Irish Spring shower soapsuds still on it and it came out of the dryer very stiff and looked like a year-old washcloth! It appeared to be gray in the middle surrounded by a faded blue. A second one left hanging in the shower, apparently with shower soap still in it had turned pink in the middle. The label states to use non-clorine bleach when needed, but these washclothes can't even stand up to shower gels. They are not colorfast and I don't believe that the other colors these come in would fare any better. One of the towels I purchased also didn't hold its' color...there are three pink spots in one corner. I don't know what this could be from but from how little this set has been used, they could be used for guest towels and immediately laundered after use. For everyday use, forget it! In about a year, these will become very expensive shop towels! One good point...they don't smell like wet camel hair like those that are "Turkish" made or made of "Egyptian" cotton. Even after laundering, the Turkish camel hair/Egyptian cotten ones still stink!I might purchase these again but I might have to change my shower gel first...unfortunately, I've got a year's supply of Irish Spring!Or maybe I can change my wall color...

plush, soft, cozy, large, and excellent water absorbency
Update: I have been using these towels for well over two years now. They have stood the test of time!! Yes, I use them daily and wash them regularly. They even withstand the 'abuse' I give them of using them draped over my head to steam my face. I pour boiling water into a large stock pot then drape the towel over my head to steam. Unfortunately, I do this pretty regularly as well (unfortunate because I need to do it to calm migraines or take the edge off at the very least). I would never do this with any other towel at this point. I love that it is organic and no off gassing or pesticides etc... so when I'm breathing steam in this is really important to me! -End of update-I adore these towels. Everything you want in a towel: plush, soft, cozy, large, and excellent water absorbency. Cotton is the most pesticide laden crop that exists, so it is great to find such a wonderful towel made with organic cotton at a reasonable price. I have had them for 11 months and they are holding up wonderfully. I highly recommend these towels.

Very poor quality
These towels have no absorbency. I have bought towels from this manufacturer before but these do not compare favorably at all. I am very disappointed as they were not inexpensive.
