Quality
I bought these stainless steel hose clamps to replace some other new hose clamps that failed. These are quality clamps and the entire clamp is stainless steel.

Stainless steel clamp
When I first received these I noticed they were stamped "BREEZE", but the screw had a slight gold tint, suggesting some kind of zinc or other carbon steel plating. I then checked with a magnet - yes, it was magnetic. But wait; a bit of Google research revealed several S.S. alloys can be 'magnetic', even 304 or 316, particularly with 'cold forming / working' (meaning thread forming). So then I tried the salt water test; multiple immersions & drying in salt water over 3 - 4 days, with control samples of known carbon steel bolt. The BREEZE never showed any signs of rust - the control samples were clearly rusting. Conclusion: I don't know what alloy of SS is used in these hose clamps, but it is pretty clearly "A Stainless Steel" alloy.

An excellent choice of hose clamp, if the connection will be exposed to water
Excellent quality merchandise, made of stainless steel, so that the worm mechanism will not rust when exposed to water and weather elements over the years.

NOT 316 stainless
For my sailboat I wanted more 316 stainless steel hose clamps, but these are not marked 316. They are marked "300SS". In a marine environment 316 stainless has a significant longer life. I have many sizes of "Breeze" hose clamps marked "316" and they are easily a "5" rating!! To avoid low ratings, please be more specific in the product description.

After 30 months in service…
I always worry when a product claims to be marine grade, is it low grade stainless? Counterfeit? I put one of these on my pool cover discharge pump on my saltwater pool. It gets exposed to salt water constantly, sometimes submerged, sometimes not. In the sun/rain/snow/ice/weather always. Basically the worst of conditions. Today I replaced the discharge hose and the clamp was a nasty salt encrusted, algae coated mess. More importantly, is what it wasn’t. It wasn’t rusted nor corroded. A quick cleaning and it looked new, back into service. Highly recommended!

Not true stainless steel
Not real stainless steel. I tested these hose clamps with a magnet. Real stainless steel don't stick to magnets 🧲. Sure enough These hose clamps sticks to the magnet🧲. Bummer.
