A nice basic book for teaching young kids.

Bought for my 6 year old granddaughter who is a complete beginner. Includes a good mix of familiar children’s songs to learn as well as some more challenging classics to enjoy. The accompanying ‘free’ audio download was easily accessed and provides an excellent supplementary teaching resource.

My son has just turned 5 in February this year and has always been musical, tapping tunes with his hands, playing twinkle twinkle on the xylophone so we decided to buy him a keyboard and looked about for a beginners book to help him read and play music. This book seemed great but it's not really (in my opinion) 20 songs out of 55 songs have letters above each note so you know what to play and my son loved this and related well with that concept but there after it is just sheet music and really hard for beginners/kids/non musical (tone deaf) parents to understand or play. Great idea just wished the full book was helpful and not just some of it

My 9 year old daughter with a short attention span has been playing piano for a few years but doesn’t like practicing because she wants to PLAY songs instead of just doing drills. She has enjoyed this book, and the sheet music is simple enough for her to figure out on her own.

Little Pianist: Piano Songbook for Kids is a wonderful book for beginner pianists. It includes 55 songs from different genres—children’s tunes, classical pieces, and Christmas favorites. I especially like the included audio files, which make it easier to learn and practice each song. It’s well organized, fun, and keeps kids motivated to play. A perfect choice for young beginners starting their piano journey!

Unter dem Titel „Little Pianist – Piano Songbook for kids“ der Autorin Aria Altmann ist ein Liederbuch für junge Klavieranfänger/innen erschienen. Das Buch enthält 55 Songs aus verschiedenen Bereichen und Ländern. Es gibt klassische Stücke wie „Ode an die Freude“ oder „1812 Ouvertüre“, englische Kinderlieder, die man vielleicht aus dem Fremdsprachenunterricht kennt, wie zum Beispiel „The wheels on the bus“ oder „Head, shoulders, knees and toes“, aber auch Lieder wie „Kum Ba Yah“ oder „Yankee-Doodle“. Passend gerade jetzt zur Weihnachtszeit enthält das Buch auch Traditionals wie „The first noel“, „O Holy Night“ oder „O Tannenbaum“. Es also für jeden Geschmack und zu vielen Anlässen etwas dabei. Jeder Song ist einfach gesetzt, am Anfang werden die Notenbezeichnungen noch genannt, später gibt es „nur“ noch den Fingersatz, der gerade Anfängern eine große Hilfe ist. Leider nicht enthalten ist, eine abgedruckte Klaviertastatur mit den eingezeichneten Noten. Wer also wirklich noch nie vor einem Klavier gesessen hat, müsste sich hier im Internet informieren. Wer aber schon weiß, wo er die Noten auf den Tasten des Klaviers wiederfindet, wird mit diesem Buch viel Freude haben. Die Stücke sind leicht und einfach zu spielen, die Abwechslung der Lieder sorgt für neue Ideen und Herausforderungen. Wer meint, dass er die Songs nicht so vom Blatt spielen kann, kann auf Audiodateien zurückgreifen, die kostenlos enthalten sind, um die Melodie ins Ohr zu bekommen. Eine genaue Anweisung zum Herunterladen der Dateien findet sich am Ende des Buches. Man beachte, dass die Anleitung auf Englisch ist. Dafür ist sie wirklich genau beschrieben und wer nicht zusätzlich noch ein absoluter PC-Neuling ist, kommt damit auch zurecht. Als das Heft bei uns angekommen ist, hat sich unser Sohn sofort darauf gestürzt und inzwischen schon einige Stücke ausprobiert. Er hatte bereits drei Jahre Klavierunterricht und kommt spielend mit den Liedern zurecht. Ihn motivieren vor allem die vielen unterschiedlichen Songs. Da er viele Lieder kennt, freut er sich, dass er nun auch die Noten für das Klavier hat. Unserer Meinung nach ist das Buch sehr empfehlenswert, es macht Spaß und motiviert.
