I was hesitant to buy this chair based on some of the negative reviews, I spent hours looking....but I am really glad I took the chance! This chair is so comfortable and has everything I wanted and more! I am 5'4" and 120 pounds, this chair fits me perfect...my knees don't fall in the gap when on my stomach, my calves sit perfectly on the lower leg support and the extra padding makes it very comfortable-even if you're taller I still think this chair would be comfortable. The back pillow support and head rest is, again, very comfortable. I wanted the chair that did everything...face hole for tanning, multiple adjustments for lounging, arm rests for comfort, etc. The cup holder and pouch on the other side are great additions. The pouch has 3 pockets: 1 can hold another drink, smaller pocket for cell phone, etc and a zipper pocket for valuables. The back rest has 5 positions adjusted by simply lifting the arm rests up and sliding into position which is great because you don't have to get up to move the back. The foot rest has 3 positions adjusted by a plastic swivel bracket you pull in and out and lock into the slot, you do have to get up to adjust this part.(this is the only part I worry about breaking since it's plastic) You can lay totally flat, straight up or anywhere in between. I saw many reviews about the quality and while I will say I don't want my 240lb son sitting in it, it feels stable and seems like taken care of properly will last just fine - but I have only used once to date since I just got it. Has a convenient carrying strap and hand hold cut-out on the arm rest making it easy to carry - and it's not heavy either, less than 10lbs. Overall if you are looking for a great tanning or lounge chair with all the bells and whistles this is a great find! I am very happy with it - SUPER comfy and lots of options!

I’ve been using these beach chairs for years now. I love them. They adjust to the way you want. Especially laying on your chest. You have good support and your knees and feet are not hanging off like regular beach chairs/ sand chairs. I did have a problem when I bought my first pair the strap attachment was cheap and broke. The new ones are a little more sturdy. They aren’t light so if you’re looking for lightweight this isn’t the one. I don’t mind the weight and I’ve figured out the best way for me to carry it. It’s worth it. We could all use a little workout. It’s not a bad way to spend your day relaxing. I fall asleep in it every time I use it. I’m in South East Florida so I use it often. My last two were put in my shed when I moved and got rusty and moldy but they worked fine but I had to get rid of them.

The Ostrich beach chair has been a great buy. It’s comfortable, easy to carry, and the face-down opening is chef’s kiss for reading or tanning. Mine has held up really well over time. I just make sure to treat it right. After each beach day, I spray it off with the hose to get rid of sand and saltwater, and it’s stayed in great shape. As long as you care for it, it’ll last. Highly recommend for beach lovers!

I don't often leave reviews, but this HORRIBLE chair made me furious. If I could give zero stars I would. This chair was purchased for a trip to the beach, and was VERY HIGHLY recommended by a trusted friend. I was extremely excited to have a nice chair that I assumed would last for years to come, as we go to the beach every year and have many other chairs that have lasted for well over a decade which were purchased for less than half the price of this Ostrich chair. We unfortunately, made the mistake of being prudent and purchased this chair **GASP** ahead of our vacation. The return policy on this chair is 90 days, so don't be like me, don't purchase this chair 100 days before your vacation. I was able to sit on this chair TWO TIMES. I am significantly under the listed weight threshold, and sat GENTLY in the chair, on soft sand. The second time I gently sat in this char, it felt like I was sinking into the sand... unfortunately that was the entire back metal piece folding in half and snapping off. I was FURIOUS to say the least, but I assumed since there's no way a $140 beach chair could be made this POORLY, maybe they have great and understanding customer service... nope. I attempted to get a refund for this chair that I successfully sat in ONCE.. and their response was essentially the following : "Thanks for telling us your chair broke and that you only sat on it twice, but we don't care because you bought it before your vacation.. if you want to buy another one and take a chance on it breaking again you can have a coupon" Needless to say I will never give this company my business again.

I love this chair!! It’s bigger than I expected and really comfortable with the lumbar support pillow. I love the color, head pillow and leg rest. I was worried about the bolts as some reviews show they rust easily. Mine were okay and I keep it in covered area. The only down side I noticed was it can be a little challenging lifting your legs to then lift the leg rest to put it down. Not a big complaint though. Two month update: so I have learned that you should not and cannot leave this out in the rain or outside on damp nights. The wooden arm handles don’t have a waterproof sealant on them so they can have mold grow on them easily and quickly. I used a white cloth dipped in bleach and wiped it away to kill the mold. Second note, the notches that the leg rest clicks into break easily. This is not a great material they use for these notches since they break while under pressure. So overall, I love the chair. But do I think it’s worth the price? NO. Do I think it could be better for the price? YES. Will I rebuy this? NO.

I purchased this Ostrich chair for use on the beach. It has pros and cons, but overall, I LOVE it. I'm 64, 5'3" and about 150 lbs. The pros are that this chair has arms, and it sits up higher than many reclining beach chairs. Thus, it's easy to get in and out of. I also love the cushion for the back of the head, and the lumbar cushion. The lumbar cushion is adjustable up and down so it can be postioned just right. The chair can adjust almost to a zero-gravity position, which is also great if you're prone to back issues. Finally, I like the cupholder and pouch. The cupholder holds a standard can or insulated cup securely. The pouch is great for phone, kleenex, sunglasses etc. I get quite a few compliments every time I use this chair. These are the cons: (1) The chair is not SO heavy that I can't carry it from the condo to the beach, but it IS heavier than other chairs I've owned. (2) It's also kinda big for the beach wagon, but it fits if arranged "just so". (3) It cannot be strapped to your back, (4) Once folded, there's a carry hole carved into one of the armrests. But if you carry it by gripping that hole, the chair doesn't stay folded and the little pouch drags the ground. We fixed this by securing the folded chair with bungee cords and tucking the pouch. In conclusion, my biggest requirements for a beach chair were comfort, back support, and ease of getting in and out of it. I didn't want a chair that was low to the ground. The Ostrich chair meets those requirements so for me, the Pros far outweigh the Cons.

My husband purchased this for me last summer for my birthday. I was so excited for this chair. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long. After the very first day at the beach, the shoulder strap broke. I chalked it up to user error but then I saw that the metal ring that holds it to the chair was very thin and flimsy. It became difficult to fold but I continued to plug along with it. This summer I gave up. The fabric on the foot rest ripped and I decided to retire the chair. I probably got about 10-12 uses before I got sick and tired of trying to make it work. After the fabric ripped I gave up. We decided to purchase 2 chairs from a different company this summer. Although they are about 165.00 , they have a lifetime warranty and the company that makes them are amazing. Don’t waste your money on these chairs! Invest in something better if you want it to last longer than a summer season.
