When I was much younger (pre- menopause), there was only regular Surgi-cream. It burned my skin like a bad sunburn. Hot and painful for days afterwards. But I learned a thing or two about “do’s” and “don’ts” which made a big difference when I tried this delicate version this evening. Being well past menopause now and distressed with prolific peach fuzz and single long hairs (ugh!) I trued the delicate Surgi-Cream out of desperation. The razor solution had the hair growing out coarser right away. No hood. I recalled my poor mother having to shave every day and by dinner time she had stubble again. The follicle killing system never kills off all of the hair. And what ut fies permanently remive takes years. So here’s what I did and I am thrilled with the result-no peach fuzz left and no burned skin either! I did as the instructions said, wetting my face and neck. But about a week before, I had used a little razor (looks like a pen, cap comes off to reveal a tiny razor operated by a battery to trim eyebrows, nose hair, etc. I trimmed the peach fuzz and any long hairs with that. I figured that the Surgi-Cream needed to concentrate around each very short hair coming out of my skin. In the past, leaving Linger hair caused the depilatory to work hit and miss. I applied nearly half a tube parts if my face and neck (basically, from the nose down-lol). I know, a plastic thingy is enclosed for that, but I have never been able to cost my skin totally and thick enough with that thing. I want a good, thickish, even , solid paste everywhere. No stinting. It took me roughly 3 minutes to get the job the way I wanted it. Remembering that I was already 3 minutes into the allowed 8 minutes, I set my cell phone timer for 5 more minutes. The click is ticking as the stuff is being smeared on! Then time to rinse the stuff off of my hands. I probably wasn’t supposed to, but I used a bit of bubbly foaming cleanser my hands. Following instructions, I washed the cream off with (cool) water. I used a soft terrycloth washrag and rinsed it out after every gentle swipe. I cannot lean over a sink and splash water on my neck. Gentle wipes, rinse, repeat. Then I rinsed my hands thoroughly and applied the soothing cream which seems to stop the depilatory action. Since the Surgi-Cream only had the very short beginning of re-growth to work on, and nothing to get in the way of the root area once the cream was smeared on, the cream did the trick completely and thoroughly. And no burned skin. I am so relieved! I dud NOT want to have to shave every day and develop a prickly beard like my poor mother had. Problem solved. I hope my little tips might help someone else.

I’ve been using this for over 20 years for my upper lip. My grandma actually used it and recommended it to my sister and I. The directions are easy to follow, and it works like a charm. I have sensitive skin, so I usually take it off about a minute sooner than recommended on the box, and has not had any issues. The cooling cucumber cream that comes with it truly does cool the area afterwards. I’m very happy with this cream. Highly recommend.

I am so happy that this is back in stock. It is my favorite product to bleach arm hair. It is easy to use, doesn't have a weird smell and does a great job bleaching. The only downfall is that it is a little itchy when it is on my arms. I'm not sure how it would work for sensitive skin, but it works great on mine!

Purchased for the dreaded upper lip hair. Not near as harsh as some of the other OTC brands, no burning. Odor is not too bad either.

Not very gentle. Test spot burnt my face so didn’t use and I don’t have sensitive skin.

I was very nervous about using a facial hair removal lotion, but this one worked as promised. I left it on a couple minutes too long the first time on my chin (4-8 minutes is recommended with 8 minutes at max), but it was a quick red/soreness. Also my own fault for not checking on it sooner. The soothing lotion helped a lot! Most importantly, the hair was successfully removed from my chin and beard area (menopause facial hair is a real thing) lol I would recommend this product.
