These things are strong. I'm using, among other things, them to hold back a plastic dust curtain across a doorway that zips up while I am renovating, see pics, so I don't have to fight through it when in/out/in/out.... I had to wrap duck tape round them to protect the plastic and create a tab to pull on to lift them away when done, but so useful this is the second set I have bought. There are small round versions of similar and they hold up a blanket I put across the doorway at night to keep heat in the main house. The dust sheet kit is stuck of a wooden frame that friction fits in the wall space around the doorway and has that draft excluder foam around the edges. Meaning if needed the whole thing can be lifted out and away for getting bigger stuff in. NO draughts, no dust. P.S. Don't, as with any magnets, put then next to your cassette or VHS tape collection, or hard drives for that matter.

Very powerful maybe too powerful anything metal near by it sticks to and if they stick together very hard to separate

When they say strong, they mean strong. They come with a warning leaflet . And indeed, when the magnet snapped shut, it nipped a bit of my flesh and gave me a blood blister. They do add a warning leaflet adding that if you stick them up your nose, there's really no way back... I'm just saying so you know how strong these magnets are.However, if you are careful with them these to work well. I have fitted one to a boiler cupboard that didn't want to stay shut and it's working well. I have also fitted a pair to some full length bedroom wardrobe doors. I would have liked lugs on the back of the plate, so you can bang it onto the door so you know where to fit it. Failing that, it's trial and error with Blu-Tack. Apart from that, they installed ok.

It’s work as intended, very strong

I needed some strong magnets for mounting in a sliding door cabinet which could be low profile and close proximity without touching. These have proven ideal. Well made, strong - exactly what I needed!

If you need strong magnets, for doors, windows or the like...these guys are just the bizzo! I use them on my boat to keep windows pinned back, and even in strong winds they're fine. The only downside might be that if you fit them in a difficult to reach place you'll never get the window closed again! To release them you do need to be close to the magnet itself, if anything they work too well...it's a first world problem which we might have to live with.

These bar magnets are very strong and it can be a job to separate them. I had two magnets that were very strongly attracted to each other and I broke both ends of one trying to separate them. I used a screwdriver so the fault may well lie with me but at the time I couldn't see any other way. However, they did seem on the brittle side.For temporarily attaching things while working, such as a light they work well but also they come in handy as devices for holding gates and external doors open so they don’t swing in the wind. Plus older children are always facinated by magnets.
