I bought this to install so I could connect to my new double din head unit with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. It works great and fit right in place of the cigarette lighter in my Jeep LJ. The cords are data transfer capable and are heavy gauge. The connectors fit snugly on both ends. This is a great value for the money.

I installed a center console in my mini van (TSI Products 57315). Wanted to add some charging ports to the sides of the console. I installed a 6 port changer inside the console and then put one of these on each side. Now I have two USB ports on each side. The console is made of plastic. Was not hard to drill a hole and use a Dremel tool to make the hole the right size. Unless you happen to have the correct drill bit, this worked well.The cables seem to be sturdy. The were a bit long for my application. Coiled them up and wire tied them.Only issue I found was tightening the nut on the back. There is not a good place to hold the unit with a second wrench or pliers so you can get the nut tight Figure I will have to in the console every once in a while to tighten the nut again.Overall, good purchase.

Just what was needed

Using these on a RetroPie arcade machine for both controllers and external USBs. These work like a charm after cutting a hole in the cabinet. However, I've found that the ports themselves run a bit tight and getting things in and out can take a fair bit of effort. This would, of course, not be an issue if you're plugging something in and leaving it there, nor is it necessarily a concern, just something that takes it down a notch for me.

Nice addition to my desk at work.I got tired of reaching under the desk to plug/unplug USB devices at the computer, every time I need to switch one out. My only complaint is the orientation of the two ports are opposite..But in retrospect, if I try to plug in a plug or drive upside-down, there's no need to invert it; just move over to the other port. The ports seem tight, so I suspect this thing will last a good long time with frequent plugging/unplugging. Considering the price, I'd say it was a good investment. "So far, so good. ..but the day is young ;-)"

These are the best for an aftermarket head unit to clean up the install. I watch these installs on youtube and everyone let's the usb jacks dangle and look terrible. Remove your cigarette lighter and put this in instead. Don't be a lazy youtuber.

I put an aftermarket head unit in my truck that has two USB ports and this was a really nice way to get the ports routed to a place I can readily use them. This fit right into the 12v socket that I never use and looks like it came that way from the factory. I did not install the included cover because I keep a plug in one of the ports at all times, but it looks like it would look really nice and would hold securely if you did want to use it. Super easy to install and it looks great!

Good quality and comes with locking screws. Has 2 USB inputs & 2 ways to mount including under dashboard mount. I needed this for my 1998 Porsche Boxster 986. I upgraded my old CD single din factory radio with a Pioneer double din with Apple CarPlay last year & I just had my usb cable fed through one of the wholes next to the dash kit. So I finally got around to ordering this adapter for a more professional look and makes plugging in usb cords so much easier and not looking so tacky. I received it the very next day after placing my order as I’m less than 30min away from one of Amazon’s main hubs in West Columbia SC. I get most of my items either the same day or the next day.
