Enjoyable and interesting insight into journalism, war and politics.
I bought this book thinking it was about the operators - that is, special forces, also known as "operators". I was expecting tales of SEALs and CIA but what I got was somewhat more interesting and disturbing. The style of the author annoyed me in places and the lack of an index in a book like this is unpardonable, but for anyone with any interest in how the war in Afghanistan was being handled (or mishandled) at the very top, and the monumental egos of those involved, this book is required reading.
