Life is not one-size-fits-all - luckily neither is this book!
Back in the 70s, I had all the self-help books - "I'm Okay, You're Okay", "Transactional Analysis", "Gestalt Therapy". Over the years, I branched out into old (palmistry, Tarot) and New Age (crystals, Reiki). Of course, as a Boomer I also had my share of therapy, verbal and pharmaceutical (lol). All this to say that I have a skeptical eye toward "this will change your life" claims. Enough about me...When I started the book I thought it would be a step-by-step sort - on day 1 do this, on day 2 do that - but it quickly became apparent it wasn't. For one thing, many of these are not 'once and done' - they instead require incorporation into one's life and that takes time and repetition; for another, not all of these are for everyone.Reading the book all at once is overwhelming if you're trying to internalize it all, but it also gives you a good indication of whether there are ideas of value for YOU. I am more inclined to concrete actions and less so to having talks with myself. I can confidently say that there is sufficient variety in here to please both ends of the spectrum and those in-between.My first pass found enough concrete that I am looking forward to getting to those days. I say that because I've decided that the best way to use this book, for me, is to look at one item a day and discard it or begin to act on it, rather than gathering all my 'good stuff' and trying to do it all at once. Small successes build; overwhelm doesn't.I'm excited to see the results and here's to a great 365 days!Full disclosure: I know one of the contributors, so was able to obtain a pre-release copy of the book.

This is a MUST-HAVE!

As Time Goes By...Read, and Re-Read 365 Days of Self-Love
It's official...we humans no longer need Big Pharma when we can have this book available on our devices, in our hands, and in our hearts. This is the collective wisdom of some of the most wise, wonderful, compassionate people on planet Earth right now. Each of them knows for sure the value of love of self...and what is self? In my view, it is the layers of energy around a perfect soul--the perfect soul that is embedded in each human being. Oh yes, the SUN rises on the eastern horizon each day, but because of this book, the SUNNY DAWN Johnston also rises to invite you to thumb to the page of the day, read, breathe, and live in greater joy and peace than ever before possible in the time of humanity. (And here is an extra dose of love to writer Judith Manganiello...the best *retired* bookstore owner in living memory!)

A book we all need
What a wonderful idea for a book! We all could stand to love ourselves more. I meditate every morning so that I can be more centered and loving. I like to pull an angel card or read an inspirational story before I do, and this book is the perfect companion for my practice. Many of the readings offer specific suggestions for improving your relationship with yourself such as connecting more with your physical body, scheduling things that are fun for you, and releasing beliefs that no longer serve you. It is nice to have a reading designated for every day of the year. I see myself completing this book and then starting back over from the beginning. I’m sure the selections will be meaningful to me in a different way every time I read them. This is a book we all need. I highly recommend it.

So glad to have this book in my life! 365 Days of Self-Love gives you the opportunity to step away from the hustle and bustle of every day life each day, and focus inward on yourself.Written by multiple authors and perspectives, there is an exercise for everyone, and they are relatable no matter where you are at in life. If you’re having a bad day, or you’re healing from something, or if you’re the happiest you’ve ever been and experiencing successes, there’s always room to invite more self love and hope and perspective into your life! Reading 365 Days of Self-Love is the easiest way to start making every day a great one! A must buy both for yourself, as well as an amazing gift for others!
