Absolutely Transparent--fantastic at its job!
Absolutely Transparent--fantastic at its job! I ended up buying 4-5 of these boxes, because they are so clean/invisible, and truly deliver L/R separation as you would hope. I will be buying more of these because I just thought of another way to use one, read below if you'd like.Bottom line: Absolutely love these products, both the 2 in 1 out, and 1 in 2 out....amazing boxes. Bravo. Why I'm ordering another: I want to run my recording vocalist's mic to TWO places...as follows:MIC to PRE AMP IN, PRE AMP OUT to HARDWARE EQ, then, here comes the split:1. EQ OUT to my DAW2. EQ OUT to a reverb unit, then to a headphone amp, so my vocalist can constantly have all the reverbthey want, but I can record the signal dry into DAW as I need, and everyone's happy.I love these boxes. They give great flexibility because they are so clean, and so invisible.

Great device
I use this in conjunction with my Audio-Technica AT-2005 (that I also purchased from Amazon) and the outputs go to my Audio Buddy preamp and then into my Yamaha MW12 USB mixer and the other output goes down to my TC-Helicon Voicetone Harmony G-XT guitar / vocal processor, and the output of that goes into the second channel of my MW12. Now, when I want to have just a 'dry' audio signal, I turn on Channel 1 on the mixer or if I need some vocal processing, reverb, harmonies, etc. I turn off channel 1 and turn on channel 2... NO SWITCHING mic cables any more! This microphone splitter works great!

This device does what it's designed to do. Note ...
This device does what it's designed to do. Note however that is NOT transformer isolated. For that you need to spend a little more and get the Rolls MS20 Mic Splitter (also passive, but transformer isolated)

Inexpensive “Y” box
This a very nicely built “Y” adapter box with the addition of a phantom power block. This device will not provide isolation as you would get from a transformer based unit, but it will work in a pinch.

Cheap and good
That’s what I need for weddings film. If you want to record microphone sound separately from other sounds, that is must have item in your bag

Does what it's supposed to do!
I use this to split one microphone to two separate mixers, and it does an amazing job! Both mixers provide phantom power, but the block does its job and so there is no interference. I have encountered no power issues of any kind running this set up, and cannot notice any decrease in signal strength. HIGHLY recommend!

Caution if using phantom power
I tried using this to channel input from one Sennheiser shotgun mic, which uses phantom power, to two different Yamaha powered mixers which are used at separate times (i.e., only one is on at a time). The reason for this is that two different groups use the same mic but at different times with different sound rooms located in the same building. However, because one of the outputs is isolated (transformer), the phantom power from the second Yamaha mixer (the one that goes through the transformer) does not reach the mic. It's a good product and well built, at a reasonable price, but did not work for what I needed. I'll keep looking.

Works!
I bought two: splits mixer outputs to left/right speakers and a y-XLR cable runs to a basic livestream mixer as a single input. Allows me to mute microphones for auditorium and livestream at the same time during worship. They work exactly as I need them to.
