Good value well built
Just the right size for a versatile every day carry knife. Excellent edge and nice geometry. Hard to beat for the price. A little stiff to open but after about an hour of flipping it open and closed its much easier to open and close.

First one was a dud. Replacement was very good.
Updated review of replacement knife:The replacement knife has none of the issues that the 1st knife had. Action is good, lock up is good, the secondary lock makes more contact and the leaf spring pushes down like it should to disengage the lock. I'm happy with this purchase now.Original Review of 1st knife:This is my first Cold Steel knife. Out of the box it was very sharp as expected. The action was slow for a knife running on bearings. The scales and liners on this are very thin/flimsy but I was aware of that before I purchased.I discovered right away that the lock didn't fully engage with any consistency. It appears that when fully engaged the liner lock is at about 30%. When it doesn't fully engage it is at about a 10%-15%. Out of roughly 20 blade deployments, it didn't fully engage more than half of the attempts. When it did fully engage it was very difficult to push the spring down so that I could lower the blade. More difficult than any liner lock should be. Others have commented on this problem but I've also seen reviews where owners do not have that issue. It seems some of these have this issue and others don't.With the blade open, the secondary lock does not completely stop the liner lock from moving . It does prevent the blade from closing but you can still move the liner lock down from the "normal" lock-up (30%) to what I'm estimating to be 10%-15%. It appears the secondary lock only makes contact with the underside of the liner lock at the very rear of the secondary lock leaving about a 90% gap in contact between both. This is why I'm still able to push the liner lock down with the secondary lock engaged.I do not have any confidence in the liner lock of the knife I received and I don't believe it's really safe to use.So I have initiated a return and replacement from Amazon. I will update this review once the replacement arrives and has been inspected.

Great Value for the Money
Coming from Cold Steel, it is a rarity to find one of their knives so economically priced. I find this knife aesthetically pleasing. I also like the grip texture. It lock when opened which seems like over kill, but it's not a deal breaker; liner lock works just fine. Sure the bolsters are plastic but this lends to very same shade of grey. .Great value for the money. I wouldn't pass this one up.

Would like to try a NEW one, not a used one
Nice knife, not light weight, but that's ok. I would like to have received a NEW knife, not one whose box had obviously been opened (tape seal was cut- that's a dead giveaway, guys!). So this knife had been returned prior to having been sold to me as ostensibly new. The reason it was returned was because the locking mechanism does not work properly. Only half or a third of the time will the lock fully engage when opened, and it won't ever engage when the knife is closed. Probably a very good knife if new and not a factory reject like the one I got. I would suggest buying ONLY one of these that you can see and feel in person.

Asking for a refund/replacement
I’ve been using this as my EDC since November (5 months ago) with relative satisfaction, and yet today the lock mechanism is completely missing such that the blade swings freely and won’t lock open. So now I’ve asked for a repair or replacement.Prior to today I was moderately satisfied. I wish the blade was spring assisted, as it can be hard to open with my thumb. I also wish it had a pommel point instead of a rounded plastic bottom end.Otherwise it’s got a decently thick and hefty blade. While only infrequently using it to open/cut cardboard boxes and such, it’s not nearly as razor sharp as it originally was. I had hoped the hype around cold steel blades was true, but I’m just not impressed.
