Q: If I put padding on the inside, could this be used for skiing?

You would need one for each foot, but I think skis may be better lol. But no, I think this helmet would be very dangerous to wear while skiing, visibility is very poor, you cannot look down. Why do you think stormtrooper can't shoot? And any hit and it would pop apart tearing your face to shreds. I would not recommend it.
