I have a traditional mouth thermometer and tried this one compared to the one I had. There is no way this thing is accurate is off at least 2.5 degrees which is significant for body temperature measurement. No thanks, going back.

Arrived in one piece, but it does not work. Made sure to install the batteries correctly (per the device) and even tried with new batteries, but still no power. Really disappointed and will be returning for a refund.

So not accurate compared to an oral thermometer! Everyone in the house had the same temp with this item but different temps when an oral temp was taken. Do not recommend at all. Waste of $40 that it cost me. I see now it’s less than half the price and I can understand why cause it’s a waste of money!!!

I noticed some people did receive a HoMedics thermometer, but I did (see pic). My family of 4 recently came sick and I decided I needed to order this ASAP. It arrived in 1 day and has been the best investment. It is accurate, easy to use and made it easy for me to check everyone's temperature, especially while they were sleeping. Buy this now so you have it available if you are sick.

This is a cheap plastic thermometer that arrived broken. It is not a Homedics brand thermometer. Instead, the seller substituted a Simza brand one, which, again, is truly junk. When I inserted batteries (not included), the cover would not close. Short of putting tape around it to keep it in place, it would not work. I will look for a higher quality alternative. Fortunately, Amazon Customer Service refunded my money when I contacted them. This is an example of certain apparently unethical sellers shipping cheaper items than what is represented on Amazon.
