Best Tent Camping: Pennsylvania: Your Car-Camping Guide to Scenic Beauty, the Sounds of Nature, and an Escape from Civilization

This is really good. I camp a lot. I live in Western PA. The author gives good info about many aspects of camping that I care about: relative privacy, bathroom locations, tree cover, where to get fire wood. I’m impressed. Get this book!

Great book, very informative

Wanted to check out the Kindle sample befor buying. Unfortunately you aren’t able to see anything beyond a couple table of contents pages. Not helpful for letting one know if the book is worthwhile.

Checked this book out from local library to preview before purchasing. Will be ordering momentarily from Amazon. Detailed information about 50 private and state/nat’l parks, including Key Facts snapshot with most pertinent info. Some good private campgrounds are missing from this list, but likely for a reason and some of the most beautiful places in the state are here in this book, in detail. Also a good introduction chapter with general camping/nature tips, including identifying indigenous poisonous plants and preparing a first aid kit. It is very likely that one can find the information independently from the individual campgrounds’ websites or policies; this book is excellent because they are all compiled in one place for a very reasonable price. I would not recommend Kindle version unless using a Fire, I was not able to utilize most of the maps/graphic from my Paperwhite. I am very excited to peruse the rest of the books in this state-organized series.
