These are the best I have every tasted. Cooks quickly.

A friend of mine and I were discussing the finer points of refried beans one day, and she said this brand was her favorite, and she's from Austin, TX, so she knows a thing or two about authentic deliciousness. I can find other refried beans that have been dehydrated in my local grocery store a far cry from any border, but they aren't as good as these. They're creamy and delicious and the sort that I always like in good Mexican restaurants, which are also few and far between where I live. It's a solid win for me that I can get them delivered.

This product is familiar to us as we used to purchase it whenever we went home to Texas to visit with family. Unfortunately, it is not that easy to find anymore. The stores tend to stock the South West style beans in this format now and they are not nearly as good. The taste is completely different. So we now have to look for this product on-line and order to be delivered to a family member in Texas.....as the suppliers don't ship to the U.K......and we collect when we visit. This particular supplier was very obliging in dealing with our order and processing it but we have to say that they are charging way too much. I think it's a shame when suppliers do this i.e. they figure out that the product is not that easily purchased on the streets anymore and up the cost to purchase from them instead. I guess it's crazy folks like us who order from them who keep the cost high so we are going to stop purchasing now!!

I used to find these at H-E-B in Texas. And since moving 10 yrs ago , I have never been able to find them. These taste like a real good quality tex-mex restaurant. However, i have used these for about 20 years prior to finding them online and the directions say 2-2 1/2 cups water, i find that 1 1/2-3/4 works well as they will thicken better after sitting. You can always add more water or broth. But cant take it away. 2 cups still make them pretty runny. But for a good bean dip or 7-layer dip, i recommend 1 1/2 cups water to make thick beans. And stir stir stir. Even tho it says cover simmer and stir occas, , they will burn quick and your house will smell LOL. Learned the hard way back in the day. Enjoy!

Super easy to prepare and only make what you need. The unused are dried and keep well for months! The taste is so much better than canned.

I found these at Walmart a few years ago and then they no longer have them, I was happy to find them on Amazon !!!!!!!
