Useful for connecting smart phone to car stereo without Bluetooth
Like most modern smart phones, mine only has a single USB-C 'charging' connector, and no place to plug in a set of headphones or an AUX cable to an amplifier or the AUX input of a car stereo. Since I listen to audio books when I drive, especially to occupy myself on long drives associated with vacation trips, I rely on being able to sync/connect my smart phone with a rental car's stereo using Bluetooth wireless. On two recent trips where I had to rent a car at an airport, I ended up with a Chevy Equinox, both of which steadfastly refused to 'play nice' with my smart phone over Bluetooth. They only wanted to connect to Apple phones, and my Android phone was apparently not welcome. Luckily, for many years I always bring along an AUX cable which allows plugging a phone's headphone output to the car's AUX input. But only too late I remembered that my new phone does not have a headphone output. I was able to pick up a small 'USB-C to headphone' adapter at a Walgreens drug store I was driving past, and that got me my desired phone-to-AUX connection, but now the phone was depleting its battery charge on the long drive and even though I had along my car-power to USB-C charger cord, I could not plug it into the phone at the same time as the new adapter. So, I ended up leaving the phone plugged into car power via the charging cable, while listening to my audio book via the phone's tinny little speaker, just barely adequate due to road noise and such.I purchased this "USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone and Charger Adapter", which does the same thing as the little adapter from Walgreens, while also adding another USB-C connector for plugging in my phone's charger cord at the same time. I have tested it on my own car at home, and it works fine with my Android phone, and audio quality is just fine, and I verified that this adapter does allow me to charge the phone through it while listening. There is some information about this device allowing volume control, but there was no manual of guide with it and I don't see how to use that feature, if it actually has it.One caveat I noticed when testing this product with my Android phone and my own car; at first, there was no sound from the car's speakers even when playing my audio book. It seemed that the book was playing through the phone's little speaker and NOT outputting an audio signal via the USB-C connector. I had to go into my phone's settings and turn off the Bluetooth, at which point this product was able to start performing its function. The adapter I bought from Walgreens did not have this issue.Note: If you want to use this product in the way I described above, you will also need to have a suitable AUX extension cable, with the 3.5mm stereo phone plug at each end (one end plugs into the car's AUX input jack, and the other end plugs into the 'headphone' output jack of this product. I suggest that the cable be at least 3 feet long.If you just want to plug a pair of headphones into this product, you don't need an AUX extension cable. This product's 'headphone' output is suitable for both actual headphone use and also for the AUX type connection to a car's AUX input, or a computer's sound card 'line in' jack, etc.

Incredibly useful
This is my second or third purchase of this item. I bought one for myself when I got my new phone and have been very pleased with the quality of sound and performance. The cables are durable and don't appear to be fraying at all. My husband's tablet died recently and he decided he wanted to use his phone to view videos, etc. for now. He is a bit of a techno-phobe and freaked out when he realized he couldn't plug his existing headphones into his phone. I ordered him one of these adapters (which seem pretty easy to understand) and then had to spend at least 5 minutes explaining how it works. He loves it (now). If I lose or misplace my adapter, I will definitely come back to this listing and purchase again.

Works for my newer device
This did not work on my Motorola phone, it did work on my new Samsung Galaxy A35, take that for what it's worth. Connections were nice and snug, charging speed was as described and audio was clear with no interference. I did not check if it worked with calls, so I can't speak to that. All in all this is the first adapter like this that has actually worked for me and I would recommend it.

The solution to your old, cruddy car
Works fine to play Spotify in my car via phone AUX since my stereo doesn't support Bluetooth. This is what you need for a modern phone to make it work in older cars. Biggest downside is it drops the charging quality. Without this plugged in, estimated charge time was 1 hour 20 minutes. With this plugged in, it's 2 hours 35 -- so half the speed. Shouldn't be a problem and doesn't seem to be trinkling down the battery, just start your day on a full charge and you'll be fine.

2 in 1 USB-C Adaptor
I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 cellphone that only has a USB-C port and no longer has a headphone jack/port. I needed a way to charge my phone, listen to music in the car through the Aux port and talk on the phone. I read the reviews and it seemed like this Adaptor would be the best solution. The Adaptor fit into my phone perfectly, allowed the phone to charge and I can hear music playing through the speakers of the car. I was able to make phone calls and hear the person, but they are unable to hear me. I will return the Adaptor and look for one that also allows the person to hear me during telephone calls.

Headphone/pods and charger adapter
Headphone/pods and charger adapter - I bought these because my new phone doesn't have a port in which to plug in wired earpods. Most are used wireless, me, too, but sometimes the wired ones are necessary. These work great, letting me listen and charge at the same time.

Fine for a while, then suddenly broke, company refunded my 2nd purchase which was amazing
Two years is kind of okay, but it always just lives at my bedside and one da used every bedtime and one day it stops working... LameEDIT: I originally left this as a two star review as I was disappointed about the product life. I bought a 2nd one as it still seemed the best option for the price and 2 years wasn't awful. The company responded and refunded one of the two purchases as an apology for the short life...that was wildly unexpected and I'm very impressed. Ergo, I have edited this review and changed it to a 4-star isntead of 2-star. Still ideal since it did break, but far better than a 2-star
