very simple and good
FOR CONTEXT... I've been using the backpack nearly a year straight. I use it for work every day, and walk 3.7 miles one way between work and home. It gets put through all weather in Western NY, whether it be dry, humid, hot, cold, rain, or snow. Also I have to use it as essentially a portable locker when I'm at work.WEIGHT... I can't say too much about the weight it can handle regularly since the stuff I put in it rarely ever gets beyond 20lbs. however I can say the build is so simple, so little can go wrong.ZIPPERS... The zippers have been holding up well, and I don't recall having any issues with them either getting jammed or ever being too loose. Haven't lost anything I put in it yet.MAIN COMPARTMENT... The main compartment's drawstring closure has worked out well. The little piece of fabric that the strings ends go through does an okay job at keeping just enough tension on it without tying the strings together (even after a year and several washes). However I still tie them like shoe strings every time anyway, cause I never fully trust that will be 100% effective every time. The top flap does oaky at securing/covering the main compartment, even when filled to the max.BUCKLES AND TENSION LOCKS... As cheap as the plastic construction of the top-flap buckle and strap tension locks may seem, they have never been an issue. All the parts still work and look as good as when I got it almost a year ago.FABRIC... The canvas fabric has held up well. There doesn't appear to be any holes or fraying from regular use, with the only exception being a few loose threads ends, of which are not even remotely concerning enough to call an issue. the only real noticeable wear on it is the slight faded spots around the backpack (mainly from the washes I give it every handful of months).WATER RESISTANCE... The water resistance isn't shabby. After an hour of walking through light rain of 0.25in or so an hour, the items will get a bit damp but not soaked, but the items buried a bit in the main compartment have come out still dry. Still don't rely on it.STRAPS... The straps were initially stiff and difficult to adjust, but after using it for a week or so the straps were easier to adjust through the tension locks. there isn't any noticeable fraying on the straps yet to cause any concern.CONCLUSION... It's well worth it. This backpack is very basic. There's nothing fancy. It's literally just a drawstring bag, with some straps and a couple of extra zipper closure pouches. It's perfect in it's simplicity.

A couple issues
I really wanted to like this backpack. It’s got a ton of room and the material felt great…but sadly I just had to return it for 2 reasons: 1, the pull strings to close the main compartment were very difficult to pull closed..it felt like I would eventually break the strings trying to close it up. And 2, the thread on the straps looked like they were already coming loose from right out of the packaging. For the low price I guess I should have expected as much.Overall, I gave 3 stars for the material feeling sturdy, the pattern being as shown, the large carry capacity, and the low price. But the issues I had ultimately made my decision to return it.

Great for the price
I've had this for about a month and have been using it for school.I bought it after my old backpack fell apart and I had to repair it in class with twine and scissors so I was specifically looking for something strong, durable and still big enough to fit my books & whatnot. That being said it is nicely large and I was able to squeeze in all my books(my books measure roughly 12x11x10 when stacked if I remember correctly) but I decided to remove my speech book for fear of overloading it.This unfortunately wasn't quite enough as just recently when I picked it up I heard a pop and noticed the stitching came loose on the right strap(the one I normally use to pick it up and put it on). This is probably my fault for trying to cram 10+kgs of materials in it but this is partially why it's only getting 4 stars. There isn't any sort of support to make it more comfortable on your back but I knew this from other reviews and if you just use common sense and put something flat like a book or binder on that side it won't be too bad.The small pockets on the flap are really nice for things like, in my case, my calculator and my hat. The drawstring and buckle flap closure is nice because you don't have to struggle with it like you do with zippers if it's too full. Unfortunately the metal eyelet that the drawstring comes out recently came out too but it still works fine but also sometimes when I pick the bag up the buckle comes undone, once again probably just my fault for overloading it but still is contributing toward the 4 stars. One last thing is if you live somewhere where it's frequently rainy you'll want to get something to put over it when you're outside, even if it's just a sweatshirt like I've done, because it is not very waterproof at all.Overall I would say this is a great backpack for what I paid but just don't overload it like I did and it will most likely work great for you and would recommend it.

Better than I expected
Better than I expected. This backpack isn't some beautiful product of the fashion industry, but that's the way I like it. The main pocket can be closed by way of drawstrings, which works moderately well depending on how much you have in it. Be aware that the bag is a bit on the small side; the main part of the bag (below the top flap) is a little bigger in height/width than a folder, but it's size has rarely been a problem for me. The construction isn't great (strings often come loose) but I've had no problems with structural integrity yet. It's the perfect size for bringing a few things with me, and I love that I can just throw it in the wash if I want (btw, I'm pretty sure it's just canvas and not "water resistant"). If the size isn't a deterrent, I recommend this backpack.

Outstanding bag for a cheap price!
I have this bag in black. I have been using this bag for well over a year as my every day carry bag. I take it everywhere, to work, day hikes, dog training class, nights on the town where leave it in my truck. To make it waterproof, I waxed it with parafin and candle wax mixed together and now the water just beads up and falls off the pack when it rains. Everything inside remains dry. There is so much room in this bag! I am able to keep many items without it being too heavy or too bulky such as a 62 ounce Klean Canteen water bottle, my survival knife, first aid kit, an emergency survival kit, an extra sweatshirt, pens and a sharpy, an electronics kit with phone charger, my eyeglasses, toiletries, multi tool, some milk bones and treats for the dogs, a spare leash, plastic bags, snacks and my lunch with room to spare if I need to add more items. It does not feel heavy at all carrying all these items, it is very comfortable on my shoulders. I would recommend this bag to everyone! Highly recommended! You will not be disappointed!
