Used as a failsafe on my Big 3 installation
I bought a set to throw in the Rollaway cuz i knew I'd be able to use one sooner or later. After a stereo system upgrade I decided to do the Big 3 on my Fullsize 92 Blazer. I remembered these and put one between the alternator and + battery terminal as a 'fused segment' only with this circuit breaker instead. Charging system is in the 14V range, headlights dim much less when the Skar 12" SDR series subwoofer and 800w monoblock amp are doing their thing. No pop yet so i guess it's working. It can also disable the power with just a click whenever working on the teuck and power needs to be disabled. Cool device, buy a set you'll find a use for it somewhere

100A trip rating is right on
I have 2 of these on my small RV type solar array and 2 DCM 110AH batteries one on each battery - hooked to a 2000W operating inverter. Tried to run a 1 HP air compressor on it . If the compressor tank was at zero to start, and the motor warm, the start surge on the motor was just below the 4000W peak that the inverter can do momentarily - but with a restart on it, it pulls hard enough that it tripped 1 and then both as it pulled over the 100A input limit. Turns out on surge, I was trying to pull nearly 400A through them (and way more than the 4000W output). I knew, I tried, and it tripped the breakers. I had an amp clamp type meter on the 12v circuit and they each tripped right at setting.Made me very happy to know that they worked correctly.
