Great for backpacking!
I was really impressed with this product. I bought a couple of these for a 4-day backpacking trip with my son, and they worked really well. They are large (more like bowl sized), but that was convenient because I just made two servings in each one. For example, I filled one with hot chocolate and we both drank out of the same cup. Then I filled the other one with oatmeal, and we both ate oatmeal out of that one. If they were smaller, I would have had to dirty four cups, which is very inconvenient when you are camping/backpacking. I'm not sure what the point of the lid is, other than keeping the inside of it clean. They are easy to clean with just your fingers and water, which is what we did. The only small complaint is that they are a little difficult to fold up. The rubber keeps bouncing in and out the wrong way, so it's not as intuitive as it seems like it should be. But it's not a big deal. I would buy more.

I really like this cup
I really like this cup.- reasonably light- compresses and decompresses easily- handle is great and very secure- lid locks tightly and avoids slips- size is greata couple changes I would make:- taller instead of wider - this limits the products ability to fit in cup holders- the lid needs a small sip opening in order to drink. At this point, you need to remove the entire lid. It's a wide opening and difficult to use on the go.

Intensely aggravating telescoping due to ridiculous materials
Ultimately, the product is durable and light weight due to the design, but this is from sacrificing ease of use, and likely a bit of your sanity, to wrestle the cup to get it to compact.. and to stay. It'd be almost better to just mash the cup into a crevice of your pack and not even bother reducing its size as designed. I do know, however, I won't be using this product again.

Functional but not for me
These mugs are large, which is nice as they serve as a bowl as well for soups. I like that they are compact and the lid helps keep the bugs out. What I don't like is that the silicone cup material is a little too soft to properly flatten, It usually take me a couple of tries to flatten the cup. The other down side of anything collapsible is that food particles gets stuck in the folds if you only have enough water to quick rinse your gear. I will probably stick to a backpacker mug for ease of cleaning.

Good for a variety of uses
At first glance, this item looked a little strange, but my wife and I are using it more than we thought.----It's a great left-over storage item if you hate using styrofoam carry out things at a restaurant. The handle make it easy to shovel things in and the cover is fine for this purpose.----For camping, I have found it packs small and is easier to manage as a bowl to eat out of because of the handle. It's called a mug, but this large size is really big enough for meal use.----General food storage is handy since the handle makes it easy to move in and out of the frig, without taking up tons of handle space. And when done, it doesn't clutter the cupboard.Notes: The handle latch can be a bit tough to work, but use your nail and it works fine for me. After a bit of use, it loosens up. Don't force the handle!

Way too large/heavy and very difficult to collapse.
I was surprised at how large/bulky this thing is. It may be ok for car camping but I don't think you would want something this large to carry/hike with which kind of ruins the whole point. It's huge, think large bowl size not cup/mug size. I spent about 20min trying to collapse it back to flat so I could put it back in the package to return it and couldn't do it. I'm not sure if mine was defective but it would not collapse back to flat. Also, when you put the lid on it creates air pressure the pushes the material out the other end, making it even more impossible to collapse.

GSI Outdoors 79203 Collapsible Green Fairshare...
I already have a smaller size 16 oz if filled to the brim. I love it for travel for coffee and tea. It is easy to clean and store. However this one is huge at 20 oz plus the additional folding handle which locks into place to have it extended or folded back over the cup itself. It was so much bigger, I left it behind. Every ounce counts when you are traveling. This would be great for soups or salads I guess and folds up after washing. Depends on what you want to use it for, I wanted another folding drinking mug.

perfect for burning man
My husband and I have gone to Burning Man for several years and finding the right kind of vessel for beverages on the go. You'd be surprised at how many we tried. We needed something compact, but large enough for beverages and occasionally food and snow cones, it needed to be easy to clean and preferably be easy to access from the outside of our camel backs.(having to pull off your pack and dig into a zippered pocket became annoying really fast with some of the others we tried. This ended up being perfect. It clips to out packs, squishes down to a compact size, is easy to spray some water into and wipe out and the lid is perfect for keeping pesky playa dust out. Highly recommend! We love it!(side note...I would agree that this works more like a bowl than a mug but it was never a bother to us)
