Great, but be wary of the battery life
Great mouse - very light and glides nicely. Lighting looks very good and comes with a nice braided cable. Haven’t tested the Bluetooth, as for the 2.4G mode it is very responsive and I feel no difference to my old wired mouse. It is easy to map the 3 extra buttons to whatever using the steelseries engine, as well as configure the lighting. The battery life is on the shorter side - it is clear they prioritised a lower weight over battery, as depending on usage and settings it can run out quickly. However it works perfectly well plugged in and charging. Lastly, this hasn’t been a problem for me but if crumbs or debris were to make it inside the mouse, to disassemble it and remove them you’d have to remove the mouse feet which from a repairability standpoint is disappointing, as battery replacements will similarly need to do this. Also if you’re left handed like I am, this mouse is almost symmetrical apart from the side buttons, so is suitable for left handed use.

Incredible mouse for £50 (sale)
Better than any wired mouse I have used. The Aerox 3 has a long lasting battery life, there's zero latency for me making it responsive and quick to use, the bluetooth connection is seamless and connects within a second or two of switching it on. Accurate when I used it with my PS5 to play video games, and all round a really lightweight and perfect mouse for the price.

Dominating Gameplay, But Beware the Battery Boast!
In the realm of gaming mice, the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Snow (2022) stands out as a formidable contender, earning a solid 4-star rating. Its prowess in gaming performance, coupled with a comfortable design catering to various grip styles, makes it a noteworthy choice for gamers. However, a caveat looms in the form of a misleading battery life claim. The Aerox 3 excels in the gaming arena, boasting a responsive sensor and low latency, ensuring a seamless experience during intense gaming sessions. Its wireless capability, particularly through Bluetooth, adds a layer of convenience for those who prioritize cord-free gaming, however I do not use this and instead use their wireless dongle provided in the box. I recommend the Bluetooth connectivitiy for casual use, such as browsing the internet or working. Designed with comfort in mind, the mouse offers a satisfying grip, accommodating both palm and claw grip users. The well-thought-out shape and weight distribution contribute to a comfortable and precise control experience. Yet, the shine is somewhat dulled by a discrepancy in the stated battery life. While SteelSeries boldly declares a 200-hour battery life, this claim only holds true when utilizing Bluetooth. Those relying on the wireless dongle will find themselves reaching for the charger sooner, with a battery life of approximately 70 hours. Despite this hiccup, the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Snow (2022) remains a top choice for gamers seeking a potent blend of performance and comfort. Its versatility in accommodating different grip styles ensures a broad appeal. Potential buyers, however, should be cautious and consider the actual battery life based on their usage patterns. If for example, your previous mouse was a Logitech G Pro Wireless or G303 (Shroud Edition) then the battery life will be extremely noticeable.

SteelSeries never disappoints
I used to be a massive, massive Logitech fanboy but when their quality started to take a nosedive some 10 years ago I kind of became a brand tourist so-to-speak.... I tried quite a few different brands of gaming peripherals before finally discovering SteelSeries. I tried Razer, I tried Corsair, I tried a few others but none came close to the quality I was used to with the older Logitech products. Not just in build quality but also just in design and practicality/ergonomics. SteelSeries is by far even better than my older Logitech products. Their software is better, their designs are better and their specifications are better. They also tend to have the most innovative products with features few other brands have. I have their magnetic keyboard and OMG what a beast of a keyboard, miles better than the mechanical keyboard I had from Corsair and Razer before. Well this mouse is no different, it is water resistant, it is lightweight, has a good battery life, a lot of customisation options in the SteelSeries software (with lighting, lighting effects, battery saver options vs high performance options, and button customisation among many other things). Sensor is great and works on pretty much any surface with or without mousepad and it is nice that it works on both wireless with dongle and bluetooth and also can just be used wired if you need to charge it while using it. Wired it works just like a wired mouse (not the case for all brands!!!) in my case the extension cable used to plug the dongle in is also my charging cable and I just unplug dongle adapter from it and plug it into the mouse. The mouse uses virgin PTFE skates which is very important and provides much less resistance than standard PTFE skates (when you've used both you notice the difference right away, substantially less drag to it and they last longer too) It also has a braided charging cable so even when using wired it feels very light and the cable isn't adding drag like a normal cable does.

Huge improvement over the last version with some small changes needed
Massive improvement over the last version being left and right-click are tighter and no longer overlap, mouse feet being the biggest improvement with the bottom of the shell no longer dragging on the mouse pad, I haven't tried any aftermarket feet but I would say these are about as good. And the last upgrade being little to no creaking in the shell. However after all these upgrades, there are still some downsides, the first being the side buttons are so small feel like they are part of the shell and not very tactile I would replace these however they use 90-degree switches where the pins make a 90 turn and there are not many switches that do this. The second is the low scroll wheel it's pretty recessed into the shell so I find myself lifting my hand to use the full scroll when picking up loot in Apex this is a minor issue though much like the frustrating button on the bottom which selects Bluetooth off and 2.4ghz when trying to turn the mouse off which is not very often I find the button going over off and onto Bluetooth as the off position is in the middle. The last downside is the RGB, if you're trying to make a wireless mouse and extend the battery life as long as possible it doesn't make much sense to add RGB and also add weight with a diffuser plate which is below the PCB, very minor issue again but one of the reasons this is a really good mouse but not a great mouse it tries too hard to fit into too many categories.

First one broke after 2 months, second after 3 weeks. Fragile to say the least!
I ordered this for my son for his gaming computer and at first he was delighted - easy to set up and pair via Bluetooth to use wirelessly and the battery lasted for a long time before needing charging. It's also nice and light with the honeycomb body and has nice LED light features. However the first one stopped working after just 2 months in anything other than wired mode. If plugged in via the wire, the computer would recognize the mouse but the battery charge level was at 0% and stayed there despite being plugged in. I even tried charging it via a non-computer USB charging point in case it was a problem with the computer, but no joy, the wireless modes were dead because the battery wouldn't charge. Amazon were excellent and gave a full refund with a free return even though it was outside of the returns period, and I ordered an identical one as a replacement. Sadly this one broke after just 3 weeks where the small DPI button behind the scroll wheel stopped working and was stuck in. As this is something my son uses all of the time when playing different games it caused real problems for him when changing games. It could be changed manually through the software, but this is hardly the point - it shouldn't break after just 3 weeks of use. Once again Amazon gave a refund and this time I've ordered a Logitech G Pro Wireless instead, which although is 10g heavier, will hopefully last longer. It would seem to me that Steelseries have sacrificed any semblance of robustness in search of ultimate lightness. Possibly if you use it sparingly and/or very gently then it might last, but having had 2 break in less than 3 months doesn't inspire confidence in the build quality I'm afraid.

Average mouse at best.
Aesthetically the product looks good. Poor battery life - seem to get about 2 days of use from it on BT. Likely won't get another lightweight mouse again if this is the battery performance. Numerous connectivity issues - flashes blue for ages before connecting to BT at times. In this event it's usually quicker to turn mouse off and on again to resolve this.

The best upgrade from a G203 or similar mouse!
Let me start this review by saying I originally ordered the Snow Model as it was on discount, but it came dead on arrival :( and it had seemed already opened and returned by a previous customer so boo Amazon! Then I finally ordered the Ghost Limited Edition colourway which worked flawlessly out of the box. One of the primary reasons I went for this mouse over other lightweight mouse competitors is that it uses USB-C to charge, which mice that are supposed to be better such as the G Pro Superlight do not have which isn't at all ideal in 2022! Ergonomically, the mouse lives up to the lightweight advertising and is a huge improvement when coming from a mouse such as the G203, near the 80g+ range. It is also shaped very well on the sides allowing an area for your thumb to rest. However an area in which the mouse isn't so comfortable is towards the rear where the mouse's curve levels off a bit more than other symmetrical mice, so a palm grip isn't really possible even for an average hand size. I can't speak on the battery life of the mouse, but the cable provided with the mouse is extremely supple and lightweight, allowing use as a wired mouse just as easily as it is when wireless. In addition to this, the availability of a 2.4Ghz and Bluetooth 5.0 mode allows me to save battery life during work or browsing in Bluetooth or use maximum polling rate and accuracy in 2.4Ghz whilst gaming. Some flaws with the previous version of this mouse, mention the lack of glide pads on the underneath and the build quality not being as expected for such a price, and so far these seem to have been resolved as I have noticed no scraping on the mousepad nor any creaking during use. Overall this is a incredibly compelling lightweight mouse for fingertip/claw grips, and those who want Bluetooth connectivity to mobile devices, as well as USB-C charging in 2022.
