Work saver
Use these for semi transparent oil based stain on a cedar fence and deck with spindles. Nitrile gloves inside the mitt help. Cuts my staining time in half over a brush. Too much waste to spray the stain and you have to back brush it anyway. A half acre cedar fence with spaced pickets can be stained both sides by one person in 7 hours using the mitt. It takes 2 mitts to get the whole fence done. The cedar is rough texture and wears the mitt down. Turn the mitt around and and use your left hand when it starts to wear through. Makes a horrible job almost bearable. Deck rails and spindles are a breeze with this mitt. Can complete a 32x16 foot deck in about an hour and a half using this. I use a soft car brush on the decking. Fast and easy and it stains between the boards too. Can't really wash out the oil based stain after a big job. Just pitch it and get another. These mitts are getting harder to find in the stores, so ,stock up here.Update: 09/01/2020Bought the latest iteration of this mitt and found the quality to be lacking compared to the older models I had used. I got about 1/4 of my cedar fence pickets stained and the stitching dissolved allowing the mitt to separated in two pieces along the sewed edge. Had two of them, and just figured that it was an anomaly. The other mitt separated faster than the first one. I can no longer recommend this mitt for heavier duty work. I wound up using a synthetic wool car wash mitt to complete the job. It lasted the last 2/3 of the project and saved the day.

Fit like a glove after an alteration
The glove was perfect to paint my balcony railing but it’s very LARGE. I sewed a inch seam along the Pinky side edge with a regular sewing machine to make the glove smaller. I also used a rubber band around my wrist to make sure it wouldn’t slip. Worked like a glove! Glove stayed on my hand and it didn’t leak at all. Painting the railing was a breeze. I would definitely buy again but would need to add the extra steps of sewing the glove.

But for an oil based enamel I can't see how it would work unless the paint were thinned down substantially which is not recommen
I tried to use this mitt with Rustoleum Rusty Metal primer to paint a wrought iron fence. It was a complete failure. The paint seemed too thick for the mitt - it hung and drooped and flopped around on my hand. The paint seeped through the mitt so be sure to use an under glove to protect your hands. The paint did not transfer at all to the railings. It left thick streaks and lots of bare patches. After trying to get this to work for 1/2 hour, I just chucked it. Luckily I was able to return the rest to Amazon without hassle (I had bought 4).This MAY work for a really light thin paint; after all some people seem to have had success. But for an oil based enamel I can't see how it would work unless the paint were thinned down substantially which is not recommended. And then you would have to do several coats to get the protection needed. The mitt packaging did not have any usage information at all. What worked well is to use a three inch wide mini-roller. I bent the handle about 45 degrees in order to easily get at the sides of the posts. And the roller fit in between posts to paint the rails and covered the connection points of the posts to the rails without requiring a touch up with a brush. The only places I needed to use a brush are the space where the main posts were sunk into the concrete to give a nice sharp edge without getting paint on the concrete. This technique worked great with the oil based enamels and did not require any thinning of the paint. I was able to lay down a nice even solid coat of paint, and got great coverage in the inside corners. It was easy to paint both sides of the fence from one side, and left over cardboard was all I need the protect against any drops of paint getting on the concrete base.

Great idea
Great time saver. Only problem was it left lint and fuzz.

Great for Staining Deck Ballusters
Prior to using these I painted by deck rails with a brush. These gloves are 100% better and faster than a brush. Very satisfied.

Greatly improves speed of balluster/spindle staining
These paint mitts are now my top choice when it comes to staining deck railings, especially the ballusters/spindles! I've stained using brushes, foam applicators, paint sprayers... this is the fastest method by far. For application time they are about as fast as a paint sprayer (with backbrushing) but without the sprayer cleanup time. Application quality was good as well, coating was uniform and I was able to work in the stain to dry spots when necessary. Drips were also easy to manage. If the wood is rough however you will be in for a nightmare. Splinters will chew up your gloves fast and leave tufts of fluff on your freshly stained surface. If you have smooth surfaces, especially those freshly sanded to 60/80 grit, then I highly recommend these.

Doesn’t last, work fast!
Glove worked for a short time. Maybe 1 hour then began to leak and my whole hand was covered in paint.
