Q: can this be mounted on the edge of desk (to be level with desk) with screws through the cable holes instead of mounted underneath desk?

It shouldn’t be a problem. The only issue with mounting with the screws is to make sure they don’t split the wood.

Q: Is it suitable for thicker hdmi cables?

yes, i thought this is quit suit for my computer desk,there are many kinds of cable wires,it didn't Stuck because the hole is big enough to take my messy computer wires.

Q: How do you cut to make the size you need?

I used a regular pair of scissors. I bent the track to crease it then cut.

Easy to work with!

I was surprised by how many cables I hid with this device - over two dozen. I used it behind my center speaker and managed to hide 5 speaker wires, 4 power cables, 5 (ultra thin) hdmi cables and a coaxial cable.

Cumple su función.

Son bastante útiles y fáciles de instalar. Traen todo lo necesario para ese propósito. Yo usé la cinta de montaje,que incluso pude despegar y volver a colocar.Es de plástico y flexible, pero los agujeros por donde pasan los cables, se quedan marcados si se doblan. No son muy anchos, apenas lo suficiente. Quizá si tienes una gran cantidad de cables, no sean una gran opción.
