Works well!
I was sceptical that this would do anything but it turned my very green tank (50 gal) into crystal clear, sparkling water in 3 days. Now I run it every week for a couple of days and my tank looks great and my fish are happy. It’s also extended the need for filter changes, so bonus!

Great product! Works like it says.
I don't really do many reviews, but I felt this deserved it.I recently started an aquascape in this 40 gallon breeder tank. Everything was going well. The plants were really taking off with the C02 running during my daylight schedule. I had some algae growth, so I added some mollies to help with that. Then of course, with all the extra organic material in the tank, I started to get a bit of a bacterial bloom. No problem, I just let it run it's course, as this is normal for newer tanks. Then, I got a major algael bloom! It was as green as the Hulk, and I could no longer see anything going on in the tank. I was hesitant to do a water change because I did not want to add fresh minerals into the system from the new decloronated water. So I did my research and found the Green Killing Machine. I had it delivered the next day, did a 25% water change, installed the GKM (which was very easy to install), and let the magic happen. After only 72 hours, my tank is back to normal, and it helped combat the free floating bacteria in the tank. The best part was the surprise of seeing how much my dwarf water lilly had grown over the past week! Before it went invisible it had just started its first lillypad shooting to the surface. Now there are 3 at the top and more on the way.I definitely recommend this product!

As expected
Worked great for pesky green algae bloom that would not go away after several treatments/ attempts, lighting reduced, water changes etc. Un plugged as suggested for extended life and will reconnected again when needed!

Wow!
I have a 3.5 month old 20g tank for my Betta, Otos, Hillstream Loaches, and various snails. I've been experiencing a "bacterial bloom" for about 5 weeks, even though my parameters have been perfect for months and my fish have been happy and healthy. I could tell my algae eaters were struggling a bit with the reduced oxygen, so I literally tried everything to get through the milky water phase. I finally broke down and made a post on a forum that I'm part of. Someone suggested more filtration, which I had tried, but the link they provided also suggested investing in a UV bulb as well. I wasn't feeling extremely confident, but the comments on this product had me feeling better. Many of the folks who bought this product got it to take care of an algae bloom, so I was a bit more concerned that it wouldn't help with my particular issue. I found a few great comments saying that it worked for their bacterial bloom and the price was great, so I figured, "What the heck?" It is similarly priced or even less than the cost of a second filter. This is an excellent product and it does exactly what it claims to do. I have had it in the tank for just about 3 days, but I already noticed a huge change in only 12 hours. The final photo is today (as of posting) and the tank is 100% clear from all angles.I'm sure that part of my issue was feeding my various algae eaters fresh veggies and yeah, I probably am leaving it in the tank too long. However, as many of you who have Otos, HSLs, or any other algae eaters likely know, mine don't gobble up food within 2 minutes like many other fish do. Now I don't have to compromise on what I feed them. They're happy, healthy, fed a diverse diet, and I don't have to compromise on visibility/oxygenation.I love this product and I would gladly recommend it to anyone facing any type of bloom in their tank that they've tried everything to combat. One word of advice, though: if your fish are sick, take care of them first. Put them into a hospital tank and care for them. Having visibility in your water will not heal your fish. Nor will most medications work if you put them in the tank with your UV light running. Happy fish keeping. ❤️

Works great!
This is the second unit I've purchased over the last several years. I use it primarily when the water gets algae bloom, so I don't necessarily use it 24/7. It gets rid of the bloom and clears the water really well. It's easy to set up and clean. The manufacturer, Seachem" is great to work with! I emailed the manufacturer because after a few years the suction cups didn't stick to the aquarium walls. So, I couldn't use it any longer. They told me they redesigned the cups because of that issue and sent me the newly designed suction cups, at NO CHARGE! Sadly, I had to take the unit out of my aquarium until the new cups arrived. S I set the unit on a chair, left the room, and when I came back our dog got a hold of it and chewed the case up badly. So, I needed a new unit. Without question I purchased this brand for a 2nd time, which has the newly designed suction cups, and it works great!
