This is a high quality brand-name device with a good history. the placement of the button could be a little better - I keep turning it off during use by accident.This device has two uses:In the bedroom...I got this as a surprise xmas gift for my wife. I have tried both attachments with her and the curved one seems to be the most pleasing due to the reach.The first time I used it with her, she reached her peak so quickly and had the best time of her life - instantly justifying the purchase. She continued on and went 2 more times - almost unheard of with her.I too have used it for my own pleasure, and for the first time ever reached my own peak without touching myself. The feeling is absolutely amazing.The attachments are a little tough to get off, and although they are impeccably high quality, they're not official attachments. Don't let that stop you though! I've not tried other attachments, but I would like to see more come to the market.The low speed setting (5000) is sufficient. We've used the higher 6000, but it's really not needed.For an all over body massage...I've used it with my wife to give her a full attachmentless body massage (the original intention of the product). She was achy after exercising, and this made her melt - she said she felt extremely relaxed and invigorated afterwards.Overall...This is extremely good value for money. Don't hesitate if you're thinking about getting one. Shop around for prices/attachments that suit you. At the time this was the cheapest I've found, but prices have fluctuated since then.EDIT 3/14/2012: I wrote that review over 2 years ago, and guess what... I still have the magic wand as the favorite toy, and it's still in near-new condition. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat if I broke ours.

I got this as a gift for my special lady, so this review is more from a guy's point of view. First of all, the construction is really nice on it. Most of the vibrators I've seen look like cheap toys or weed pipes. The Magic Wand looks more like a tool or appliance. It's got a metal ring at the stop, and the rocker switch feels solid. The whole wand's got a decent heft to it, you could probably use it as a weapon in a pinch. It's straight business with this thing, and it really does bring it. It has two settings: high and highest.Aside from its amazing ability to do its job so quickly and reliably, it's got other benefits too. Since it's held from the top down, you have a lot more access than you would with a vibrator held from the bottom. This means you and your special gal can go to pound town while she's using it. I got a decent reaction from the attachments, but the real star of the show was the Magic Wand by itself. Another plus for dudes, it's not really dong shaped or anything so you don't have to feel jealous of it.Two downsides, but really who cares:1. The cord's only 6 feet long. That might seem like plenty, but when you're flipping around all over the place it really helps to have more slack. Even if you're close to the outlet, you do feel a little tethered.2. It gets pretty warm after about 20-30 minutes. That'll rarely happen though. So far, the only time that's happened is when we were exchanging back rubs with it. That's another plus for it: it's multi-purpose. So that actually cancels out this downside really.Anyway, if you love your chick and like to see her happy, you should buy this for her without a doubt.

Dear Hitachi Magic Wand,I am an incredibly loyal customer and enthusiast. I recently purchased my third Hitachi Magic Wand. You see, my first Magic Wand almost burnt down my house because it was left running for a prolonged period of time while it sat on my bed. It was so overheated that it left scorch marks on the sheets and the case had enlarged and expanded. I will say, this product was a BEAST. It ran for months after its injury. And clearly, this mishap was user-error. I can only fault myself, not the fine piece of equipment. My second one also met a tragic end when the cord got tangled in itself and wore away some of the cord's coating, thus leaving me with minor electrocutions before it too, met its demise. But I refuse to blame the fine craftsmanship of these two vibrating apparatuses. Oh no. I simply was not worthy of their grandeur.Now, I loved these Magic Wands.In my home, each Magic Wand has been affectionately named Dr. Mrrrrhhhh - not only due to the loud whirring noise the product makes, but also because of its ability to cure my neck pains. I know "neck pains" isn't really doing the product justice - it alleviates all of my shoulder and back problems, too!But this third Magic Wand is an inferior product. I felt fear in the pit of my stomach as I opened the postage box and was not faced with the original packaging, adorned with 1970's fashionistas suffering, holding their necks in pain. Oh no, I gasped in horror when I saw the sleek, sans serif font and modern, minimalist packaging. I feared the worst and hoped for the best when I plugged Dr. Mrrrrhhh III into the wall and turned her on. And my fears were confirmed! The product redesign + relaunch left me with a magic wand that is poorly made. It did not vibrate with its usual intensity - a familiar intensity that I require to cure what ails me! It also is not durable. This Dr. Mrrrrh died after merely a few weeks of use. Yesterday, in fact!I find this incredibly unsatisfactory. I demand this be resolved, or I'm going to save up for a Sybian and hope I don't die of debilitating neck pain before I can afford it!Your Fan,Grace
