Clean Efficient and Unbelievable
Love the cooktop and the SPEED that the electric induction has when heating liquids. Just testing the water to boiling was amazing. Great safety feature too that the burner does not conduct heat where the pan is absent or will turn itself off when you remove the pan. I like the lock out feature since there are no knobs and the audible chimes when using the touch control panel. Happy with the unit and delivery was quick too. Recommend.Fast forward 7 years and the cooktop is working great BUT during a remodel a corner of the glass cooktop was broken. Really bummed! It worked great for the full 7 years - no problems. You do have to keep the steel pans on the cooktop - safety feature will turn off the burner in less than 15 seconds. I loved the lock out feature too and that there are no knobs! May replace with identical model.

Keep on looking at other products... Not a reliable one!
I purchased this GE induction stovetop in September 2023, and I must say it has been an absolute nightmare from day one. The product, which is supposedly known for its advanced technology and efficiency, has proven to be nothing but a source of frustration and disappointment. From the beginning, the stovetop exhibited issues with inconsistent heating, leading to uneven cooking and extraordinary long cook times (it takes forever to even boil water). Not all of the burners worked, and the ones that did were barely hot enough to cook anything. As a consumer who paid a premium for not only a supposedly top-of-the-line product, but also for replacing my entire cookware collection for an “induction friendly” one, I expected a smooth and reliable cooking experience. Unfortunately, the GE induction stovetop failed to meet even the most basic expectations. After 3 months of constant issues, I reached out to Amazon’s customer service in an attempt to resolve the problem (I would have reached out sooner, but we were in the middle of prepping for my daughter’s December wedding, and then my husband became ill, which significantly reduced how often we cooked at home). However, we were told by Amazon to contact GE directly due to the 30-day return deadline expiring. I connected with GE’s customer service and was met with a level of incompetence that left me utterly shocked. A representative was dispatched to my house, presumably to assess and fix the problems. He suggested adding a device to help with the connection, and advised that he would return to install it. He returned a separate day to install the device, and we were told that he was mistaken and it would, in fact, not solve our issue. He let us know that another representative/technician will be dispatched to our home (for the third time) to help fix the stovetop. However, instead of providing any helpful solutions, the 3rd representative displayed an appalling level of rudeness and nonchalance. Not only did he fail to address the technical issues with the stovetop (which he saw with his own eyes), but he also had the audacity to inform me that there was "nothing he could do" to rectify the situation, and instead suggested that the problem must be our cookware. This dismissive attitude and lack of accountability is inexcusable, especially considering the premium price tag attached to GE's products (mind you, this is a $2,000 purchase!!).I expected better from a company like GE, but my experience has left me questioning the quality of their products and the competence of their customer service team. I have not been able to cook for my family in months, and we are still waiting for ANY response or solution from GE and/or Amazon (who is equally responsible as the retailer we purchased the product from). While we initially just wanted our stovetop fixed or replaced, this experience has left us not wanting ANYTHING to do with GE, or any kind of induction stovetop whatsoever. If you are considering purchasing a GE induction stovetop, I strongly advise against it, unless you enjoy the prospect of wasting your money on a $2,000 malfunctioning appliance and dealing with unhelpful and impolite representatives. Save yourself the trouble and explore other brands that prioritize customer satisfaction and product quality - and definitely do not depend on Amazon to rectify or do anything about receiving a defective product from them. What a disaster.

This induction cooktop works great
Induction stovetop works great. It heats water faster than the gas burners on the stovetop it replaced.Easy to clean. No annoying clicking from gas ignitors. No indoor air quality issues. All of these features played into making the change from gas to induction. It did require having an electrician wire for 220 V with enough amperage. We have used this stove for nearly a year and continue to be happy with this purchase.

Not very reliable and very difficult to get service even under warranty.
Great cooktop when it works, but our second one just burnt out after about 5 years. The first one burnt out after 1 year. Both were covered by warranty, but the sad truth is that there are very few technicians who can service them. It took 3 months to get our first cooktop replaced. It took several weeks to get a technician to look at the second. GE warranty just told us it is too expensive to fix and has offered a $1200 reimbursement. A replacement costs $1700,Several repairmen have reported that many of their customers have given up on induction cooktops.I am going to fight over the reimbursement, but we will probably switch to an electric range. Bummer!
