Spear & Jackson Elements 3 Prong Cultivator

Don’t bother purchasing. Broke after only 3 uses. Contacted spear and Jackson who asked me to send a photo in which I did. They cannot be bothered to return your calls or emails. Most of the time they do not answer the phone. Very poor customer service and flimsy product. Save your money

States that the Spear & Jackson 3 prong cultivator carries a 10 year guarantee which was a deciding factor on purchasing it back in April 2013. The item has had moderate use since its receipt and has never been used for any task other than its intended purpose. On using the cultivator during the week for breaking up some compacted soil the 'heat treated hardened head' sheared due to an apparent weakness in the metal at the junction where the 3 prongs meet at the collar (see photos). In accordance with the 10 year guarantee I would be grateful for a replacement cultivator as up until this materials defect I had been more than happy with the performance of the cultivator. The 2 stars have been allocated purely because of the defect and the item failing with light-moderate use and not for its performance prior to shearing..

Strong and sturdy 3 prong rake. The wooden handle is heavier than my last aluminium one, but the benefit of my new one is that the 3 prong end looks much stronger and is likely to last a long time. The only thing I don’t like is the prongs are pointed spikes. My last one had rounded flattened ends which I liked. I would like to stand on one of these spikes. Good all round product though.

I recently had a stroke so unable to dig over the earth as I used do being a gardening lover. Saw this and are thrilled as it does enough of the job that I need to do without the stress or strain of digging. Would recommend anyway to anyone and also the quality is good.

Just as I expected from this company a very sturdy and well made tool which has really helped me in the garden with weeding around my plants. I have trouble bending and crouching so this is ideal for anyone with similar issues.
