Overall, I'm really happy with this unit (warm white version). I did have to modify my old steel mounting plate to make this replacement work, but it was well worth the effort. If your ceiling plate has mounting clips for the old fluorescent bulb(s) you'll have to remove them so the new assembly can mount flat with the supplied magnets. I used a Dremel with a cutting disk - it took about 2 minutes. Or you could drill out the clip rivets.Attaching the new assembly was pretty easy. It just clicks into place with the magnetic posts. The new power supply's mounting holes didn't fit the pattern in my old plate, so I drilled 1/16" pilot holes and used two #6 x 1/2" sheet metal screws to secure it.But don't use the supplied spring-loaded wire connector. The 120 volt wires will slip out of it easily - not safe! Use good ol' screw-on wire nuts. The supplied connector is not wiring code compliant, and it's a fire hazard.So, I'm really happy with the brightness and gorgeous light color of our new laundry room light, compared with the old cold white fluorescents we had. Ya know, it might even make it more fun do do our laundry.

We have a twenty four year old "pillow" ceiling fixture in our kitchen which was lit by two circular florescent bulbs. Recently, the light refused to light and troubleshooting determined the problem to be a failed ballast. Unfortunatly, this ballast is no longer manufactured so I decided to try replacing it with this circular LED light. It is at least as bright as the florscent bulbs and has saved this fixture for us. I highly recommend this.

Easy install and brightness.I hope it will last.......and not as short as 9 months that another customer experienced.What a nice product to finally replace my fluoresent circular bulbs.👍👍👍

My led came with a manufacturing defect, so you would expect a scathing review. But guess what, the instructions included an email address. Within hours of an initial email, Mark at ledytech was offering a replacement and I received it 2 DAYS later (perfect condition, and the warm 3000k level works well in a bathroom). Amazing and wonderful customer support. For an inexpensive price, its not unusual to have an occasional defect. But this level of customer support is well worth 5 stars. I am now ordering two additional units to have on hand when a few other florescent fixtures need tube replacement. The included magnets allow very easy installation without having to match up the preexisting bolt holes, etc. so this unit also gets high marks for ease of installation.

My home was built when EnergyStar fluorescent lighting fixtures were the hot new thing - not CFLs, but the horrible stupid kind with the ballast permanently built into the fixture and the bulbs you can only find at specialty electrical supply stores these days. Unfortunately, the ballast in my office light fixture blew up, and my options were pretty limited - replace the entire fixture for >$100, replace the ballast for >$50 and keep buying expensive bulbs, or retrofit it in some way. This LED ring light seemed like a low-cost retrofit, worth a try at least.I'm pretty happy with the result. The installation was a bit more awkward than I would have preferred due to the very short leads on the power supply. I wound up having to redo the installation a couple of times to get something that I could readily connect to the power leads that came to the old fixture. A few extra inches of lead would have been extremely helpful. The magnetic attachments seemed pretty effective, but at least one of the screws seemed not properly threaded, which prevented it from screwing in all the way and led to one wobbly attachment point. The light itself is a bit flimsy, but sturdy enough for an enclosed fixture.With the brightness of the light distributed and the frosting of the existing glass of the fixture, it gives a nice even light throughout the room, and since the installation I've been entirely pleased. (Meaning, I've never had to think twice about it, really.)

I replaced two circline bulbs with this. I had a ballast go out for the second time and it was replace the ballast or replace the ballast and the bulbs with this. The price of just the ballast was about the same as this and this came with the lights, so I thought I'd give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised.Replacement was probably about the same as replacing the ballast. I was able to use the brackets that held the inner circline bulb to hold the lights. Popped the cover on and ready to go! It is brighter than the two bulb solution, but I will admit those were soft white (warm) and this is bright bright white. I would have gone warmer if I had the chance, but this is good for my closet and I'm very happy with the result.I don't know how long it will last, but if/when it goes out, if it's still here, I'll post an update.

Update second light quit working today... Don't buy themwe ordered two lights... they both work very well initially, very bright and as advertised. We installed both in open air to give some general ambient lighting in a recessed location. Recently the second one failed. the driver still works (i swapped them out to troubleshoot), but the light itself does not. not visable signs of failure or loose conection.Recommend trying a different fixture with a little bit longer durability than 9 months or so.Thanks
