This is a perfect pocket sized notebook! The pink color is beautiful and I love the textured the cover. The elastic is strong and snug, the pages feel high quality and are thick enough that there is no bleed through even with felt and gel pens. The size is perfect for a pocket notebook or to live in my purse. Great value for the money. This is my new go to on the go notebook.

I just received my Anecdote A5 journal notebook and I am very excited to start using it. My first impression is that it's sturdy, well made, and the perfect color. It may be made in China but it appears to be a Las Angeles based company who designed it and sells it, so at least there is some domestic benefit.This is obviously meant to compete with Moleskine notebooks. And I would say that the value of this book far outweighs the other brand. This notebook was about 20% cheaper than it's brand-name counterpart and seems to be just as good. I especially like the fabric feel of the outer cover, and I think the hard cover is thicker than the other brand.The pocket is a nice addition. I would point out that the side of the pocket is made of paper, whereas the other brand uses fabric. I'm not sure there is any benefit to one or the other, so the pocket on the Anecdote will work just fine for business cards or small notes I think.The paper is thick so bleed thoughs should not be an issue. However, I have not yet written in it. I'm still finishing my last journal.All in all a good purchase. It was more expensive than some on Amazon but cheaper than Moleskine, so I think this will be a 5-star product with a 4-star price.+++UPDATE: MARCH 2021+++I've been writing in this book for three months and I felt I should add my opinion about the paper. First of all, I put a lot of pressure on my pen when I write and I use a G2 most of the time, which is a gel-ink style pen that tends to bleed through most paper I write on. With the thickness of this paper, I can write on both sides of the paper and there is no evidence of writing on the other side. Perfect for my junk journaling

Highly recommend this notebook! It arrived well packaged. Notebook is beautiful and I am obsessed with tide pattern and quality! Definitely worth the price !

Update: I bought this journal again in a different color, numbered the pages, and again found it to be short a few pages (96 instead of 100 pages). This may be minor but something really irks me about a basic detail of not being clarified / attended to.This is a simple, well-made option for anyone else as annoyed by the dominance of faux leather notebooks, but not perfect, alas! (The quest continues for a notebook I love as much as the cloth-bound Paperchase journals I used to get at B&N in the mid-aughts!)I'm satisfied overall — I really love the green color, and it feels comfortable in my hands. But I have a few quibbles!1) First, the page count says 100, but after dutifully numbering my pages, I am sure that there are only 96 pages. I know this is a minor detail, but come on!2) There's some unevenness in how the pages at the ends of the book (first couple & last couple pages) are bound, so the pages don't completely lie smoothly.

We got this to use as an annual birthday book for my son. We are having people write a message in it each year of life as a keepsake for him. The quality is great and the page thickness is perfect.

High quality. Slightly heavier than I was expecting. I am thrilled with this new journal. Smooth writing easy on the fine paper with light grey dots. Handy pocket on back interior good for keeping receipts or other little keepsakes. The band that keeps the journal shut seems good quality as well, has not stretched out or snapped, though I've only had a little less than a month. Olive green color is gorgeous. Also bought one in mustard yellow to give as a gift. I will definitely purchase again once this one is filled up.

I instantly loved this journal as soon as i opened it! The covers are extremely sturdy and well made, and I cannot get enough of the baby blue color! The paper inside is also thick and smooth, which allowed me to write in it without bleeding through! the ribbon bookmark also added a really pretty touch to it and I would definitely buy it again!
