How to Play Alto Sax in 14 Days: Daily Saxophone Lessons for Beginners (Play Music in 14 Days)

Great if you are starting Alto Saxophone
A very good Tutor book to start with. There is a finger chart for all the notes and the name of the note is printed above the music for those who can't read music at this stage. Actually reading music is not that difficult on the Alto Sax so most people would be able to do this within a few weeks of learning. Maybe less. The tunes are played on the Audio and there are backing tracks as well for you to practise with. I play Alto for half an hour each day and have been doing this for about six months. The low notes on the sax are not so easy for example low C. However if you stick with this book and and use it how you want with regard to timescales which are flexible you will improve. Of course it takes a lot longer than 14 days to be a competent Sax player but this book will get you going and inspire you to study further. The book is also good value for the price.

Optimistic and a challenge but generally well paced.
The book is well laid out and generally explains the sax clearly. A pull-out fingering guide would have helped to avoid me having to thumb back and forwards to aid my memeory. The recorded soundtracks were very useful and the play along tracks later in the book made for nice progressive challenges. I have played the classical guitar for some years so have a familiarity with reading music, musical structure etc which I guess took some of the challenges out. Could I play the sax after 14 day, well, not brilliantly BUT I had a lot of fun and felt that I had laid a foundation on which to build. I suspect that I will revisit day 10 of the book onwards until I can play along with the songs to my satisfaction. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to attempt to learn the sax who has some ability to read music. Also worht checking You Tube for guidance on "embouchere" i.e. mouth technique.

Great book
Although I've had this more than 14 days, I haven't worked through the whole book just yet due to caring responsibilities and moving home but I have leaned so much and been able to memorize the notes so far, better than reading other sources which has enhanced my playing ability.

Not really necessary.
It's okay, but there are much better courses on line

Maybe 14 weeks or months…
Decent book, but a bit heavy for novice to music sheet.

Absolument, admirablement remarquable !
