Thick, size as advertised. A little heavier than anticipated but that was good. For example, can t carry it upstairs with just one person. Stitching excellent, fabric very natural and comfortable.

Was trying to find something more in the style of 90s futons, instead of the memory foam crap, and this exceeds expectations. I might have preferred the 6in for 'couch mode' but it'll probably compress in a month.The tag on the mattress lists 81% cotton, 11% poly foam, 8% wool. I'm not clear on whether this is a batting change or what, but I'm alright with it and it still feels like a good classic feel.Smells like the fields, but I'm ok with that (I guess I'll update this if it won't air out in a few days.)

This mattress reeks of a strong chemical odor. It should not be sold. The seller did not accept my request for a return. In fairness, I waited two months to request a return as I had hoped the chemical odor would abate. It didn't.

I’ve slept on futons for probably 20 years now and sadly, I’ve not found a mattress that isn’t filled with chemicals and other junk that can stand up to normal use. I had high hopes with this mattress, but it probably was 3-6 months only before it began to shape to our forms, highs (edges) and lows (two shallow ‘graves’ for myself and my spouse). I should note that we flip our mattress every other week, and rotate it weekly, and we use a cotton (thin) ‘topper’ too, so beat me what one must do to have a moderately firm futon mattress that won’t get all lumpy and out of shape in little time.No weird smells, and seems quite well made, but I won’t buy another.

I bought this for my 2 year old. I wanted something made of natural materials and I wanted a floor bed. Overall, my child seems to like it. I find it uncomfortable to sleep in the whole night, it is quite firm and I prefer a softer mattress. But I know a firm floor mattress is supposed to be better for you long term and it doesn’t bother my kid, so I can’t complain. It is very heavy. I haven’t tried setting it up to be more like a couch, but I’m sure it’ll assume that position as some point.I put a jute rug underneath it to help with airflow, but I’ve been flipping it every few weeks to avoid mold. Eventually we might put it on a frame to avoid the issue altogether.Overall I’d recommend this mattress to people looking for a more natural, affordable alternative to normal mattresses.Update: we’ve had the wool wrap for several months now and I no longer feel it is uncomfortable. I find it very comfortable and my husband often ends up sleeping on it. It’s an acquired taste for sure! We did end up putting it onto a bed frame with slats and it works very well on it.

I finically got rid of my memory foam mattress. It was hot and suffocating. I wanted something natural . I purchased this cotton futon. Perfect. It is firm but not hard. No synthetics. It’s thick enough that I don’t need a box spring.

I was terrified to buy without feeling it first however it exceeded my expectations. I have a terrible bad back. This futon is very dense, thick, and well made! I struggle to flip it over. I wouldn't recommend this to fold to a couch. This is made to be a mattress not a couch. The durable cream color canvas cover is cool too. It ships very protected in triple layer, shrink wrapped clear plastic. No box. My back feels much better after only a few days on it! I highly recommend this futon.

My son loves. It is 100% cotton. He sleeps great.
