Greenland [DVD] (English audio)

Garbage
Corny script. Naff acting. Moronic behaviour and idiotic mistakes contrived to engineer dramatic setbacks. Loaded with cliches of dramatic scriptwriting: Our hero is on a journey. There's hope. Oh no, a setback. But they're going to be OK. What's this, a reversal and an even worse setback? Utterly unoriginal and zero creativity. The script is so corny. It's pathetically unauthentic. The last 5 minutes shows some spectacular Greenland scenery and scenes of a devastated planet - that's where the movie should have started. It might have been interesting instead of a festering pile of garbage

I managed 32 minutes of this utter rubbish!
Such a terrible film!!!The nail in the coffin was when the world's worst mum packed the medicine in the child's bag- who does that?!? Isn't it obvious important medication gets put in the main suitcase that doesn't get opened until you reach the destination.

I have no idea why this is only 3.5 stars? It's good
It is naturally a disaster film just like many others, as people have pointed out, however, I was delighted to see a disaster film in which the disaster is not just a plot device to get a man and woman to have sex -- I'm looking at you 2020.There is the best and worst of humanity on display and for once in these films there is some sense as to why the people are or are not outside and why the characters don't think about the problems before they fully hit. The only things I would change are the ending, since it would have felt more moving not to know what happens, and the plot line concerning the husband's infidelity. Frankly it looks like a strong relationship and nothing we see shows what could have motivated him, nor does it add to the overall plot in any way.

Predictably awful
This nonsense of a movie somehow got warm recommendation from a well respected TV film reviewer so we gave it a go - a total waste of time, not that we had anything much better to do in the lockdown, but still, it's numbingly awful, with contrived storyline ticking every imaginable disaster movie box (sick child, marriage breaking down, average Joe turning into everyman's hero, judgemental-father-in-law... you name it) minus any decent special effects budget. They must have spent $100 on the effects with falling meteor damage mostly shown on TV news bulletins and even using stock images of recent wildfires. Worse of all, the dialogue is offensively sentimental and with Buttler's blissful lack of acting skills and different accent from one scene to another, this was a cringe worthy experience. And he doesn't even get to take his clothes off...

Waste of time.
Let me put it this way... If you have a media library for extinction level events, this should not be in there. Possibly the worst movie of 2020.

Was on the edge of my seat
I love disaster movies, and I found this one to be what I would consider most reflective of what might happen, without the corny script to go with it. Of course it has its ups and downs, for instance Gerard Butlers character has a lot of hoops to jump through, but I expected that otherwise it wouldn't be an action movie. Thought it was one of the better disaster movies I have seen from that genre, and was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

When can we watch this!
When will be able to watch this? It was released ages ago, and all of the early Amazon release dates were wrong. I can see it now, but I can neither stream nor buy and there is no information!

Loved the film
I'm a big fan of apocalypse type movies and shows and this was a great example of it. If you like apocalyptic shows and movies I can highly recommend this film. I was so captured by the characters and their journey I just couldn't stop watching. It would have been interesting to possibly see the rebuild of society or maybe even some footage from time inside the bunker but overall it was a good film and good representation of this genre of movie in my opinion
