Supposed to be a book for beginners and if I have to Google what a coral or fish actually look like then this book didn't serve the purpose I was hoping for.

The book is very helpful and informative a must have for beginner.

I'm a fairly intelligent reader and currently have several fresh fish tanks. This book, at times interesting, actually assured me that the LAST thing I need in my life is a salt water tank. It seems to be a finicky full time job. And after looking at the prices of the saltwater fish (which are stunning) I knew I wouldn't feel good about spending that much money on a hobby when I could donate that money to good animal-related causes - I'll look at pictures online or visit aquariums instead.

This book covers every step of the aquarium experience, from planning and purchasing the right aquarium for your space, to selecting the right fish, environment, and even care instructions in order to set up and maintain your own beautiful aquarium. The author writes to both the novice and veteran aquarium owners, so this is definitely a useful tool for anyone interested in learning more about aquariums. There are many pictures that complement the already descriptive writing, so after reading I have found that I am able to readily recognize many different elements about aquariums that previously went unnoticed. Very helpful and I definitely recommend this book for anyone interested in learning more about aquariums!

It depicts everything with a good amount of details and guides you through the very first steps to build and keep a marine aquarium. Very easy tips and easy reading, along with plenty of images makes this books a great choice to learn more about how to keep fish in your home or office.

A must read for everyone starting or even thinking of starting a saltwater aquarium. The book is very thorough for beginners with a step by step type format covering everything from aquarium set up, water conditions and choices and advice for stocking your aquarium. This book is excellent. I was interested in buying an aquarium, but it is a big investment and I wanted some advice. This book is a straightforward source of information. It took me through the entire process from planning where to put my aquarium, what to buy, how to set it up, and even has some information on maintaining it. The pictures are so helpful. I highly recommend this book to others.

I like this book because it easy to follow and covers everything from setting up an aquarium to advice on stocking it. It has a large section on fish and invertebrate choices. I read this book after I bought my aquarium, but I wish I had seen it first, it would have saved me a lot of money. I would recommend it to anyone considering a salt water aquarium.

The most basic information book.Not a great starter. Cover looks good but the all the pictures inside are in black and white,Yet all the discriptions relate to colour pictures. Loads of pictures of fish in b/w wasted!The publication date says 2014But the book seems very “old school”Cannot recommend this book to anyone wanting up to date informative text

This is going to be a very short review - this book is good if you looking for information about preparing a saltwater aquarium.It is NOT a good book for information on species you can stock it with. It skims over fish groups rather than saying anything about each individual type.Oddly, the invertebrate section goes into more detail than the fish section.
