Once I tasted pounded yam in Nigeria, I have been a follower, much preferring it to potatoes. This is because it is thicker and very easy to roll into a ball and bind, making it easy to dip into soup, take out of the bowl and eat. To me, it is more substantial to use. Of course potatoes are a wonder food, but. I urge more folks to try pounded yam. Being able to buy it in powder form is a Blessing!. In Nigeria, it is common to eat it with the fingers, but it is also correct to roll a portion into a ball with your spoon and then dip it modestly into your soup. A good thick soup is best when using FuFu.
