Q: Are the sea sponge bleached?

In their natural environment, sea sponges are often covered in slime and contain sea debris (e.g. seaweed or bits or seashell). Processing is essential in order to remove sand, coral and shell particles from the sponge canals. After cleaning, sponges often undergo a natural lightning process using bleaching agents (potassium permanganate) which gives them their well known yellow color and makes them softer. Unbleached sea sponges are typically brown in color and have a firmer feel. Thank you for your interest in Contented Infant.

Q: I bought one, it was great, bought another and was completely different. Has anyone bought one of these in 2018 and is it the product pictured?

Im not sure, it was my first purchase of this product and I didn't like what I got, so I returned, unopened. They arer SEA SPONGES and EACH 1 is UNIQUE but please detail the differences
