Great product which allows me to shower with much more confidence by allowing me to maintain balance.

I have one of those heavy plastic shower stalls in my master bathroom. There are shelves in the stall but no security bar feature. As I age, I like the security of having this bar to grab as I'm turning in the shower and for stability when I need it. It's essential to read the instructions for proper usage of this bar. There are two indicators on it which begin as red and as you press the suction cups against the wall they begin to turn dark green. Then you press the closure down tight and both of those lights should be green. If there is any red showing, it's not safely on the wall. You start over and press it again until there is absolutely no red showing. Then it's safe for use. But the manufacturer warns you not to use the bar for lifting yourself in or out of a tub. This is simply a security bar to grab on to prevent slipping. It may not hold your weight if you pull on it too hard. And you should check every time you get in the shower to make sure you don't see any red. Just remove it and replace it until you see all green. It sounds more complicated than it is really. I thought it was a great thing to have in my shower and it looks good too.April 14, 2022: I just bought another one of these for another bathroom with a tub. Loved the first one so much that I didn't hesitate to get another when it was needed.Dec, 2022- Just bought another one as the red/green indicator stopped working on one of the sides of the bar first bar I bought. It still stuck perfectly, but in the interest of preventing an accident, I bought another and changed it. I still think it is a great thing to have in my shower stall.

Useful product for the infirm and the elderly.

Perfect. Helps my mom in and out of the tub at our house when she comes to visit. Now I don't worry about her slipping and falling. Check it periodically to make sure the suction is still strong. There is an indicator on each end signaling if the suction seal is firmly made. I've noticed that it weakens after some time and will turn to red when the seal is weak. Easy to fix, though. I highly recommend this product.

We purchased the Carex Ultra Grip Handle for my senior mom's shower. She also utilizes a shower stool and tub handle for additional stability. The Carex handle is easily adjustable and adheres well to the shower wall. We have not experienced any negative issues with it. I encourage people to read/follow the directions upon installation. The handle has a safety feature, it indicates when the handle is improperly installed on the shower wall. My mom uses the Carex Grip handle to assist with balance (not full weight bearing) in the shower. She bears full weight on a SEPERATE tub handle that we installed to ensure additional safety. We are happy with our purchase!
