Some of my dog's fur is longer than two inches, some is shorter than two inches.  Should I get the long hair or the short hair model?

The new versions are not as long as the versions from 2015. Also, the teeth are uneven which means one side will get more hair than the other.

If something is too good to be true, it usually is. Why is this furminator only 20$$???
Seller: you have customers saying this is fake.  Please state if this is a genuine furminator or not.  
Previous customers: does your patent number match the official patent number ?

I saw this was possibly a fake, so checked the Furminator website. Looks like they have a new product so selling this one for cheaper. There was a link to buy from other stores, I clicked on Amazon, Chewy and Petsmart links and they were all listed as $15. I assume if the Furminator website is using these links that it is a true furminator. I would rather buy the older one for $15 than the new one for $40!  Hope this helps.

There are 5 colors pertaining to the size of the dog and each size has a long hair and a short hair model. Red is Giant size for very large dogs over 90lbs. I use this for my Rottweiler, The Yellow is the large size for dogs between 50 to 90lbs. My daughter uses this size for her Basset Hounds. The Orange is the Medium size for dogs between 21 to 50lbs. The Green is the small size for dogs up to 20lbs and the light pastel green is for Toy size dogs. The long hair model has a grey fur release button on top and the short hair model has a blue fur release button on top. Note, I use the long hair giant model for my Rottweiler and it works great. Good luck, you won't regret purchasing one. And, definitely purchase at Amazon. First, you can trust the seller and second, the retail shops all charge over $50 and higher for the same product.

I have the "long hair" type. Width of blade/teeth is 4 inches. The length of the teeth is 1/4 inches and the blade within the teeth is 1/8 inches .
