Q: The sixth photo shows taping the barb for a groove that is too wide. What type of tape would be recommended?

Suggestion: apply tape parallel along side the groove. Use some clear RTV, fill the gap. Also try pinching the groove with needle nose or duckbill pliers once per six inches along the length. Most track is aluminum. If plastic, RTV only. Apply T-molding and hold it down with pieces of tape until RTV dries. Lift tape slowly holding the T-molding down. Clean up any residual tape adhesive with denatured alcohol or Goof-off. It comes in a spray can or bottle and removes adhesive, however has harsh smell requiring ventilation. Best of luck!!

no you need to have a groove cut into the wood 1/16 inch the tee has barbs so it stays in with out tape.

Q: Will this work on on my Trilliun RV?

Since, I don't know your application on your TV, I'm unable to answer the question. My use is for flooring using a aluminum hold-down strip between flooring. It works great.
