Works Great - Excellent Quality
I had a forty gallon water heater go bad at my business. We only have two sinks used for washing hands only, so a big heater was really a huge waste of energy. I had first ordered a Bosch US7-2R, 7.2KW. It quit after only a few days. This Rheem 6KW seems to work just a tad bit slower in warming the water, but I like it much better. I love the display that tells you the temperature of the water leaving the heater and the fact it has an on /off switch. The quality of the cabinet is also much nicer and more ascetically pleasing. The Rheem also came with an electrical pigtail, the Bosch did not. This unit also seems to have much heavier water connection fittings than the Bosch. Overall this is a nice unit for one or two sinks in close proximity.

Love this little water hearter.
My favorite result on this unit is how little room it takes up and just hangs on the wall. Our old standard tank water heater gave out and took up so much space in the laundry room. Easy installation took us less then 30 minutes (we did have all the correct new fittings needed). Takes a little time for the hot water to reach temp and get to the kitchen sink, it's not an instant hot one but does get very hot. The slower you let the faucet run the faster it gets up the temp. All in all it was worth every penny.

Waste of money. Do not buy this water heater. Worked less than a year.
I purchased the Rheem RETX-06 November 22. I installed it around January in my garage. It is not a high use area so it needed to operate rarely. December 5 the unit would not heat water. The temp readout would blink with the temperature of the incoming water but would not heat. After numerous phone calls with tech support they said the flow meter was bad or plugged. They said they would send me a new flow meter until they found out the warranty expired 2 weeks ago. I purchased a new flow meter from Amazon for $20 and the unit still doesn't work. Save your money and buy a different tankless water heater. FYI Rheem and Ecosmart are the same company.

Works but @ very low flow rate.
This is my 2nd time purchasing one of these. I originally installed one of these heaters for a small hand wash sink. It did the job, but was lack luster in performance. I tried one of these a 2nd time, for a different customer for a single sink. The flow rate has to be turned down so low the sink isn't usable. If you turn the flow rate up the heater isn't able to heat the water fast enough so you're left with luke warm just over room temperature water. I ended up removing the unit and going with a larger one. Even the first customer I mentioned I later found out they were unhappy with the heater, but they are keeping it because it is just a shop sink. So 2 for 2 with very poor performance, one of these I had to uninstall and eat the loss. I'll probably never buy of recommend again. They just aren't powerful enough to get enough jot water at a high enough flow rate to make a sink usable. If you are ok with cutting the flow rate down to a trickle then this heater will heat the water burning hot..... but as soon as you increase the flow rate no more hot water.

Installed under kitchen sink
I installed an 8k for my shower and bathroom and love it. I installed this 6k under my kitchen sink. I love my 8k easy to set temp but this 6k you have to remove cover to change settings. I just left to factory settings and gets hot enough for sink and dishwasher. To much of a hassle to get under sink and mess with.

Installation and Operation
The heater was easy to install and I like the digital display. My previous tankless heater from another manufacturer would not tolerate over voltage conditions. I will update this review in a couple of months to report how well the Reem heater works in this regard.

Be careful. This one will overheat.
This is my second review of this water heater. Initially we liked it. Hot water on demand. We used this one for about a month and were not happy with the temperature control. There is no adjustment to the temperature. If you run the water slow, or shut off the water for even a few seconds, and then turn it back on, the water will get very hot. Many times the water would get so hot that it would start to steam coming out of the faucet. The display showed up to 154 degrees. This is totally unsafe. If we ran the water for another 10-12 seconds or so, it would cool back down. But it was not predictable. My wife hands nearly got burned a couple of times. We've replaced this one from another company that has adjustable temperature and is flow compensated, so it never gets over 120 degrees.

This will only heat water for a sink or shower with water starting at about 55 to 60 degrees
Installed this heater for a remote bath. The house is in Florida and we are on a well. Water is stored in a tank about 200 gal. to off gas the sulfer, therefore the water is at near ambient temp. This heats the water plenty hot for a shower or to wash up at a sink. Not sure about how long it will work. Right now it works great!

The installation is very simple however you need to understand that the power button does not turn the unit on and nothing lights up on the unit unless water is flowing through it. This is not well explained in the instructions.

Merci!

Let me start with the poor design. There's now indication if the device is under power or turned on. The display lights up only when the water is flowing. Seems like a safety risk. Because of safety reasons, the device turns off when water flow is low. But can't heat up higher water flow. So there's a fragile balance that has to be found to be able to take a lukewarm shower. Not hot, not warm: tepid. After some experimentation, I was able to reach temperatures of 24C-28C (incoming water was at 0C, or at least that's what the unit's display said when the flow started). And I had to wait minutes before this peak temperature was reached.

I got one of these for my wife's shop which she uses sparingly and it stopped working after a year. I'm still trying to get help from the manufacturer as it's still on warranty and after initial contact with them, they stopped correspondence with me. Frustrating to say the least! Update, March 7th 2025, I reached out to Rheem Canada (Eemax) last week and finally got a response from a different Rep and was promptly shipped a new heater. I installed it today and is working fine. Hopefully it lasts.
