This book is perhaps the best introduction to Jaimini Astrology that is out there on planet earth. Shri Marc Boney is a teacher par excellence and his down to earth approach to introducing concepts and *demonstrating them through dozens and scores of practical examples* is the essential ingredient that sets this book apart from every other Jaimini book available. The reader shall learn about the basics of Jaimini. These include 1. understanding the different padas and lagnas 2. calculation of chara dasha (K.N. Rao method) 3. general principles of evaluating charts through Jaimini 4. Jaimini Raja, Arishta and Dhana Yogas 5. Application of all concepts on charts of famous and ordinary folks distributed across topics covering career, marriage, chidbirth, misfortunes, spirituality and more. Each chapter contains at least a dozen charts in both north and south indian style with degrees and Jaimini chara karakars clearly marked. Shri Boney's explains each concept in the appropriate amount of detail that only a true Guru can do. In my opinion, this book is a fitting tribute by Shri Boney to his Jyotisha Guru, Shri K.N. Rao, who is credited by most as the force behind reviving Jaimini astrology in modern timesIn addition to all of the above, the book contains the original Jaimini Sutras from Volume 1, Chapter 1 from the ancient text authored by Sage Jaimini. Shri Boney has provided the original Sanskrit text, followed by the literal meaning and a practical interpretation of the Sutra. He then goes on to demonstrate the application of each Sutra on to charts of people from different walks of lifeI encourage lovers of Vedic astrology to buy this book and take a dip in the vast ocean of Jaimini astrology. Even if you are not a Vedic astrologer, this book may perk up your interest in this ancient science.

I recently began my journey with Jotisha astrology several months ago. I am spending most of my time with Parashara. However, when I found out about the Jaimini system, and this book came highly recommended, I HAD to get it.When it finally came in the mail, I sat with it for several hours. I am in awe with the simplicity and beauty of the Jaimini system. Marc Boney presents the information in The Essentials of Jaimini in an easy to understand and concise way. This guide was written for the student. I feel blessed to have it.I am adding to this post from last year because I am currently taking Marc Boney's "Essentials of Jaimini" Course, as well as, his Jyotisha for beginners course. These are my first two actual courses in Vedic Astrology ever. And I have to say, he's so easy to understand. His encouragement and enthusiasm is contagious. He presents everything at a pace which allows students to ask questions during class. Marc provides a closed facebook group in which we can answer exercises he presents as homework each week for us, then we discuss them the next week.I may not know much Jaimini yet, however, I do know one thing, this is more than a valuable book. It's worth every penny you will spend because Marc has given us HIS painstaking research and experience of many many years and has presented it to the public for their scrutiny. This book, in my humble opinion, will be the cornerstone of Jaimini courses everywhere AND the desire of Jaimini scholars who wish to not only predict, but predict with accuracy.

As he does in all of his books, Mark Boney takes us step by step to guide us into this important system. He is clear, detailed and gives many examples to illustrate his points.

A warming introduction to Jaimini Astrology with good examples from Marc Boney. The author has poured out his thoughts and insights on this system of astrology quite well in this book. I presume those who have read the book are anticipating for more deeper revelation and secrets about the art of prediction through this system in the subsequent books by the author.

In time, this book will likely become THE Essential of Jaimini Astrology Basics. The book is an excellent introduction to Jaimini Sutras that can be well understood by students who want to learn Jaimini Astrology but do not know where to begin. Marc Boney is a gifted writer who keeps the student in his mind while writing a book. In that respect, this book is like a live session in a Paaramparik (traditional) method of teaching. He presents ample examples immediately after highlighting each principle as stated in Jaimini Astrology (Basics). I am very impressed by the contents as well as the presentation of the material in the book.An excellent book and a corner stone of my Vedic Astrology Library, for sure!Murali
