Red KapMen's Denim Bib Overall

One of Top Two or Three Brands of Bib Overalls Available
Like good whiskey, bib overalls might be considered by some to be an "acquired taste". Maybe they're a bit old-fashioned, but I have come to love them for working on projects around the house and yard work. They are super comfortable - even for just lounging around the house watching TV. Wearing bib-overalls means no longer having to hike up your dungarees when you bend over and stand back up, and the back of your shirt has extra protection if you are lying on your back working on the underside of a car. There are a couple of specific features of the Red Kap Denim Bib Overalls that place them at the top of my list:1) Button-fly: From my research, a button-fly is ONLY available on Red Kap and Round House bib overalls (please correct me if there is another). I recently bought Liberty and Big Smith brand overalls and returned both because I did not care for the zipper fly. But, hey, I still drive a full-size pickup truck with a 5-speed manual transmission, if that is any indication of my willingness to do a little extra work.2) Lightweight Denim: I've only had them for a couple of weeks so far, but denim is sturdy without being overly heavy. I love the products that other makers like Carhartt produce, but sometimes less is more.3) Captive Pocket: There is a certain beauty of simplicity in the Red Kap Bib Overalls single captive flap pocket. It is more than adequately sized for a cell phone, grocery list, wallet, or other flat items. Plus, there is a stall for a pen / pencil and a watch pocket in the bib if you still carry a pocket watch or fob watch. Yes, there are plenty of other manufacturers that have multiple pockets on the bib, but I found that I am not realistically going to be carrying a ratchet wrench and full set of sockets in the bib of my overalls.4) Tool Pockets & Hammer Loop: These are pretty standard features on most all bib overalls and carpenter dungarees, and they are present, too, on the Red Kap Denim Bib Overalls.A note on sizing - if you've never owned / worn a pair of bib overalls, order the waist size two sizes (4") larger and the inseam one size (2") smaller than your normal dungarees / jeans. I normally wear 36"x32", but found the perfect fit with 40"x"30" in the Red Kap Denim Bib Overalls.

Nice Overalls
I'm a 42 waist in jeans and decided to go up a size in overalls so I would have more room. Glad I did because the fit was more of a 42 than a 44. I have a little of a gut at 5'9 255lbs... so I would recommend if you have a large gut to go up a size at least or you may have problems fastening the side buttons. Other than that this was a nice pair of overalls and I looked nice as Mario for Halloween. These will get more wear though the year because quality is very good and they are sharp.

Excellent fit, great for work.
I bought these to work at the sawmill. I mostly chose them because of the reasonable price although I do have a couple of Red Kap shirts I like. These fit nicely. They don’t sag in the crotch like my Liberty overalls do but to be fair these are a smaller size so that might play into it. They feel great while bending and squatting and the bib straps don’t slide down even during 10+ hours of work.I like the button bib pocket but I do miss the two bib pockets (including one that zips) from my Liberty’s. The Carhart overalls I own don’t have enclosed bib pockets at all which causes sawdust accumulation to the contents of the pockets.I’m 6’4” and 245 pounds. I wear a 36x36 in most jeans but overalls aren’t measured the same. I went with the 40x34. The waist is perfect and the length is good.I’ve been wearing them 2-3 days a week for the last few weeks and they seem like they will be durable but I guess time will tell. These would be perfect if they added a second bib pocket with zip enclosure and a second pen pocket. I still have to give them 5 stars because they just fit and move better than any other brand I’ve tried.

Order the right size, they are great!
As long as you order 2-4 inches larger than your general pants waist size (pretty standard for ALL overalls) and ~2 inches shorter than your general pants (again totally normal for overalls) they are great. They came a little stiffer than I was hoping for, but after one wash they softened right up to where I wanted and I have worn them for everything from Business Casual (I work in a banking data-center) to working on the car.

Never order by waist size! Use Belly or Chest
Never order your waist size if your belly or chest is bigger! Order your belly or waist size, whichever is the largest!

Willing to pay for American made.
Over all quality can not be questioned. From denim, hardware, to fit these are made right.Being a true gee from haw redneck I cannot deny a good pair of overalls when I placed them on.Being a proud American Union Ironworker I can say, "Dang it," after looking down at the tag that say, Made in Mexico. Not knocking the product, just wished it'd said, "Made in USA" Yeah brother save that farm and help out a fellow American keep it.Thanks, say grace, buy American, and God bless the world.

Horrible, cheap, poorly made.
I can't believe these are actually sold. Ordered 36x30 which should have been baggy on me. They were way too tight around the waist and the crotch was way too short. Theu are impossible to wear due to the crotch. The legs were too long by at least 2". These were the worst made clothing I've ever seen. They look like amateurs made them. They should sell for the quarter of the price. The material is super cheap and I don't see it lasting. There are no zippers on the fly, just 2 buttons, so don't wear them in public unless you want to put on a peep show. I'm sending them back. I can't believe someone would sells these. These bibs are made so bad, that it looks like someone made them as their first project in a sewing class.

Great
BUTTON FLY! I’m surprised no one has mentioned it and it isn’t in the description, to some it may not be a big deal, but for others it may. I personally don’t care as I bought these for work on the railway doing track construction so theyll be beaten up in no time. Incredibly good quality tho, you can feel they are a heavy duty denim, they’ll feel a lot more towards work wear than your casual denim. The craftsmanship is great! I’ve heard some people complain about the buttons to fasten the straps on red kap bibs because they are more unique shaped than other hook and eye bibs but they go on very easily. Definitely will keep red kap in mind for future work wear, especially the quality you get for the price

Size
Upon reading reviews before buying it was suggested to get one to two sizes bigger around the waist. Well after a wash the length was still 2 inches too long. The legs.... I could park a couple of mature trees in them. The waist was the only thing that shrunk to fit. They are a solid overall but after buying my size from another company, I would not buy these again.
