Outstanding work
Probably this book does not need any review but I thought some people might want to know what others think about this book. The pieces in the Vandall Preludes are in a way like Bach Preludes but Vandall's have a touch of 'new age' in it. This edition contains of Volume I, II, and III. I personally think the level of difficulties is a bit higher than the pieces in the Bach Preludes although if you are very well trained probably you could sight read pieces in Volume I and part of Volume II. All of the pieces sound very pleasant and I often use the accompanied CD for background music while working on the PC. If you are not yet familiar with this American composer go to YouTube a Russian pianist even have recorded the whole Volume I & II pieces.

I love these preludes
I love these preludes. Not for beginners, though - late intermediate to advanced. The CD is high quality and the preludes are beautifully performed and suitable just for enjoyment. Vandall has a style and sound unlike any other. Will use these when my students reach appropriate level. My teen beginners love them and look forward to learning them in the future.

Nice collection
Wonderful collection that starts rather elementary and builds to complex preludes for piano. I'll be able to use it for a very long time for practice an challenge.

Teenagers are absolutely in love with these preludes
Teenagers are absolutely in love with these preludes. These tent to be the first pieces that they practice from their homework.

Just as I hoped
Contains all the preludes plus a CD to listen to for guidance. Covers a wide range of difficulty from moderately easy to somewhat complex.

Love these preludes
All in one! Anyone that plays the piano would love these. Three for one. I would order this for any pianist.

Not so great...
I really love the idea of having a bunch of preludes in all sorts of different keys (with a CD included of how they are supposed to sound) but I just couldn't get into these. They really sounded terrible. Maybe they will grow on me as I practice them more and get better at them, but even on the CD they do not sound that great. I keep checking to make sure my sharps are sharp and my flats are flat thinking "that can't possibly sound that way" but sure enough it does. I think it was a noble effort to do something like this, but really - unless you are using this simply as a refresher on what notes go with each key signature, there is not one of this that I would play for someone and think they would enjoy it.
