I became very interested in silent screen star Alla Nazimova after reading the Garden of Allah series about early Hollywood, written by Martin Turnbull. Then, most recently, I read his latest book, "Chasing Salome," which is solely about Nazimova. In this book, there are several references to Alla's custom-made fragrance. Well, if you Google "Alla Nazimova fragrance," up pops Marem by Caswell-Massey. The thought of wearing Alla's perfume was just too intriguing, and, even though it seems strange to order perfume on the internet, I took the chance based on the description. And....WOW! I am very pleased. It is a marvelous, unique scent, very compatible with me. My perfume of choice for more years than I care to mention is Shalimar. I also wear Lady Gaga Fame, Burberry, and La Vie est Belle. (Have worn Cher Uninhibited and the original Ambush, but you can't get them anymore.) My point being, if any of those fragrances agree with you, you will LOVE Marem by Caswell-Massey. Personally, I would not mind if Marem were a little stronger, but for those who prefer subtle, this is definitely for you. Because Marem is not available everywhere over-the-counter, I feel as if I have my own bespoke perfume. I highly recommend this scent. Thank you, Caswell-Massey, for this wonderful experience.

This is just a wonderful scent.Pairs perfectly with Marem cologne or can be worn alone. The scent is not too powerful, so even if you use just the body cream alone you still get hours worth of lovely scent.

Extremely classy scent and wears well over the day. Hard to describe other than earthy and comforting to my nose.

The soap quality is excellent, the fragrance is ok, not bad but not great. I prefer the LX48 fragrance.

The scent is powdery and grandmotherly.
