D'Addario Accessories Circuit Breaker plug, with right angle

Take these bad reviews with a grain of salt.The people downvoting this item are mad because they didn't research the product well enough and bought without knowing what they were buying, when they got what they weren't expecting they ran here and downvoted this insanely cool product because they were mad.First I'll clarify what should probly be in the Description:• This is not a LATCHING switch which is useful for killing a signal for cord changes. You want the RED button one for that.• This is a MOMENTARY switch. i.e. you have to hold the button to kill the signal.• RED button = Latching Switch• BLACK button = Momentary Switch (I own both versions)• This does NOT work with standard cord. This is designed for Cable Station Cord, also a great product from D'addario (You can buy cable separately from the kits).That said what this is good for (and what I use it for) is adding a gate (effect) switch to any guitar I want without modding any of my babies with drills and ending up with extra switches protruding where none should be. (ahem) HELLA COOL if you don't want a frankenstein axe or can't see the practicality of stomping a gater which is awkward and not very musical using your foot.If you're looking for a good way to kill a signal and you're not into the Cable Station you might consider the JHS Mute Switch Pedal. I take back everything I said.This newer version is NOT the same. It is not a latching on/off switch. It is a momentary hold-off switch. This is a poor downgrade and I cannot endorse or promote this.I've had my Planet Waves cable for more than 8 years. It was just click, yank, swap, unclick, play. This plug will not do this now.I consider thus version useless.

Works fine, but the strain relief end has a fixed size hole, so your cable has to be exactly the correct size (my original cable was heavy duty, so didn't fit), and the "push to seat the wire" system should be replaced with a proper clamp system. I never liked the idea of just pushing a wire up a slot and hoping the pointed pin inside aligns with the wire inserted - not secure or rugged enough. I love the idea, but I would buy the full factory cable with this angled end next time

I was looking for a cord with a breaker built in, but this was a much better choice. I connects quick and easy to any 1/4" cord. More than worth the price. Now I can switch between instruments without having to turn off my amp.

this is a must for the everyday guitar player. push a button and it mutes the cable when you unplug it from your guitar. very easy to install

I've used Planet Wave Circuit Breaker plugs professionally for nearly a decade and thing they're the great thing. But until this design they were always a latching switch, click on-click off, which is perfect for tuning on stage as well as instrument changes. This is NOT a latching switch it is a MOMENTARY switch, it only works while you're actually pushing the button. AGHHH. What's the point of that? They do make a latching switch and I just located one at Sweetwater. Amazon only sells it at the end of a cable. I use these plugs on Mogami cables.

The old Circuit Breaker and this new one are very different.This new Circuit Breaker plug's button is a temporary mute. The old Circuit Breaker is a kill switch.Nowhere has the difference been mentioned.So when you order this replacement you get something different than what you expected.You may or may not like it. I personally prefer the old style which is a kill switch over the temporary mute.When I returned it Brook Mays sent me a new one instead of refunding me,but they're willing to send me another shipping label to send it back again.

This plug installed seamlessly & the switch on it is great on many levels :switching instruments & the "kill switch" effect.
