Expect the lid to not be a lid . . . everything else is great.
The good: the measurements are hard-etched into the glass so there is nothing to wear-off or wash off. The glass will last for years as long as you don't break the glass..and the measurement marking will stay on for years. Obviously since there is no paint involved, the measurements will forever withstand dishwasher and/or any kind of washer. Perfect!!It's a slim measuring cup (unlike a "cup" shape measuring cup that is wide). Because it is slim, the measurements are slightly more accurate because a little change in volume will show up more clearly in a slimmer, taller measuring device than a short, fat, wide measuring device. Simple physics. So for more precise measuring, I use this one. For non-precise measuring, I use my regular measuring cups. Now the lid. . You can read other people's review about the lid and I have to agree as well: the lid is just... for show. It is not secure, not sealing, and does not work like a lid as if this is a tupperware or something. The lid is more for.. show. or allow you to stack something on top of the measuring cup, maybe. So, have the correct expectation up front: the measuring cup works great! The measurements are great and will never come off! It slim so it's great! And the lid--just throw it away and pretend it didn't come with a lid then you will end up feeling great!! (lol)The triple-pour spout... eh, it doesn't add much nor subtract anything. I haven't been wow'ed by the triple-pour spouts, nor does missing it cause me to feel regretful.Hope this review helped! :D

So sturdy & attractive!
I am so pleased with this purchase! This measuring glass is sturdier, heavier, and thicker glass than I expected which I am very pleased about - it has a very substantial feel in my hand. I love having the 3 spouts so I can pour easily in whatever direction I happen to be holding it. It has a good feel in my hands, just the right size to grasp and hold. I love having raised markings that are part of the glass itself. To me, it has almost a vintage appearance which I like. It is true that the lid does not snap on easily or tightly but that is not crucial for me and I am sure I will still use it occasionally. I am puzzled by the instructions that say do not use in microwave as it seems as sturdy as other glass measuring cups I have used. In fact, on the bottom it says "not for kitchen use" --what?? I have used it in the microwave to melt butter a few times with no problem. In spite of these quirks, I am totally taken with this cute 1 cup measure and am using it often and happily!!

Accurate and versatile
I love this little measure. There is a reason that lab ware is shaped the way it is: the lab-inspired narrow shape of this makes it much easier to get an accurate measure because a small change in the amount makes a larger change in the height. The embossed markings don't come off in the dishwasher - like many other similar measures I have used. The pour spouts are crisp and seem much better than my Pyrex measuring cups at avoiding the teapot effect - where the liquid runs down the outside when you pour it.One other reviewer checked theirs against their Pyrex measuring cup and concluded that the measure on this may not be accurate. I skipped the Pyrex, likely to be off itself, and checked directly using plain water and a scale. I found that 8 ounces of water was exactly at the one cup mark when read at eye level. The other marks show similarly with 1/4 cup at 2 ounces and 1/2 cup at 4 ounces.I like having the multiple scales. I occasionally cook to a recipe from abroad and the availability of metric is really nice. I can read in any units without having to be ambidextrous because there is a pour spout for each set of markings. The lid is a storage lid and does not seal well enough to use it for shaking but is quite nice to be able to pre-measure ingredients and keep them refrigerated until ready to use. The glass is not tempered so it won't take thermal shock, i.e., don't put something very hot in it and then something very cold or use it in the microwave. It is actually stamped "no microwave" on the bottom.Since my use is for measuring liquids, this suits my needs very well.

USA-Made! Glass! LEAD-FREE and CADMIUM-FREE!
GLASS!Made in the USAReasonably Accurate for its intended purposesMOULDED - not painted markings! An absolutely lead-free, honest to goodness glass american measuring cup. The accuracy is as expected for kitchen tools - use a scale if you need tighter tolerances! The lid is plastic and not super tight, but you don't have to use it - and really I don't see a reason to unless you're using this for sourdough starter or something. The only iffy bit is that the pour spouts are a little uneven. But you get 3 so there's going to be at least one that works flawlessly, it's a genius idea that likely cuts their rejects from QC down a lot. I applaud the designer or engineer who thought of this. Why specify that it's lead/cadmium free? Most measuring cups have painted/inked markings on them which contain high levels of lead or cadmium that vastly exceed the limits for childrens' toys (per tests from Tamara Rubin, even currently produced ones often do!) This is, from what I understand, done by manufacturers to ensure the markings resist being rubbed off for a long time, including dishwashing. But it's very very toxic, especially to children and pets. The simple act of using or washing a lead-painted item causes tiny particles to abrade off.Thank you Anchor Hocking for producing a sane and safe alternative.

Great Cup BAD Lid
Love the quality, shape, and feel of the cup, but the lid does not fit so it does not prevent spills.A Silicone lid might have worked better.
