True Professional Quality CD-R Discs
A few months ago I attempted to use Verbatim CD-R discs for an audio project - BIG mistake! (Over half the media discs had failures.) I have long been a fan of Tayo Yuden CD/DVD recordable media products and will never stray again. Can honestly say I have never had a TY media failure that was not user initiated. Do not hesitate to use this media for your important projects - And they are ALL important projects if you spend hours to create them!

Looks great and sounds great
Best quality for printable CDs. It's getting harder and harder to buy top quality CD blanks. These record very well, and the print quality is outstanding. I have tested dozens using a Plextor system for error checking, and these will give you consistent, low-error burns in a suitable burner, even with inexpensive DVD burners. You can print professional looking CDs using, for example, an Epson Artisan printer, or any number of other options. However, these discs are not as good as the Taiyo Yuden disks of, say, twelve years ago. You get about 80 percent of the quality of those legendary discs. Using a controlled burn in the reference Plextor professional, even using old stock the older dye formula gives slightly less errors, measured over a large number of samples. However, the printing surface of the current formula is superb, and the write quality is excellent, just not quite as good as the older one. There is a slight texture to the surface, and they hold the ink and dry quickly. Durability and shelf life are excellent as well, recommended.

Durable discs, nice writing surface.
I should first say that I have always, since the advent of printable discs, gotten printable discs, despite never having had a disc printer. The surface is just so much better for normal labeling with a marker, that I can't imagine going back to the weird logo-ridden surfaces of yore. The bright white means better contrast for pretty much any marker you throw at it, which helps if you're trying some crazy color-coding scheme as well. So, printable discs - not just for disc printers.Who uses CD-Rs anymore? Well I don't really want to use a half-baked phone solution in my car stereo. I also don't want to keep originals in my car, as I have a ragtop and keep nothing of value inside. I don't use cases, because I'm using a disposable commodity solution anyway, and not using cases saves on space. But I still want CD-Rs that are durable, so I'm not constantly chucking and reburning discs. These hold up to the abuse of being stuffed in the pocket in front of my seat, full to capacity with CD-Rs just rubbing up against one another. Obviously they don't last forever, but they're outlasting all the brands I tried previously. And I've yet to have a failed burn on any of these as well. Great product, worth the price!

Most amazing print quality!
Being new to the world of direct-to-CD printing after purchasing a Canon Pixma iP4920, I set out to find a recordable CD with an inkjet printable surface that wouldn't smudge. I bought some Memorex CDRs with a matte printable surface from a local store, but the ink would smudge. I bought the Taiyo Yuden/JVC disks based on the reviews, and I haven't be disappointed in the least. In fact, the quality of the print on these disks has to be seen to be believed! It looks like professional quality, and they don't smudge one bit.Now if you are like me and have become accustomed to the the lighter color of the phthaloCyanine recording surface, you may be in for a surprise with these disks. Taiyo Yuden/JVC uses cyanine, which has the appearance of a darker blue/green color. Can't tell you much about the relevant differences between the two types, except there seems to be a lot written on the quality of the the Taiyo disks being superior and highly recommended by disk duplicators. I mention this so that you won't be surprised by the color of the recording surface if you were expected the usual from the big name disk makers. For now I am happy with these disks and the print quality will blow away any alternative method of disk printing short of professional screen printing.

It will prevent moisture of hands from smudging those nice graphics you design/print directly onto these disks
This is a repeat purchase of this product for me. And, I will buy it again, and again, for as long as I am producing musical CD's for distribution. This is the ONLY way to go when making a professional looking, high quality, CD for distribution. You must figure that folks will handle a CD in such a way as to place their fingers on the top (graphics) side of your CD. That is why the Watershield protection is so important. It will prevent moisture of hands from smudging those nice graphics you design/print directly onto these disks. Other white hub printable disks that don't specifically state they are Watershield means that I do not purchase them. These are the only way to go. And, this distributor delivered them to me faster than the estimated delivery date. Can't beat that!!

Taiyo Yuden/JVC Water Shield White Inkjet Hub Printable CD
I love these CD's!! I have ordered another 100 of them to complete a project. The gloss finish looks great. They seem to be completely dry as soon as they come out of the printer. I have accidentally touched the surface of a couple removing them from the printer without damage to the ink. I previously tried a cheaper ink jet printable brand and planned to spray them with a clear finish. They looked horrible! These may be a bit more money but I think they are well worth the extra cost. I will use these anytime I have a need for ink jet printable CD's. Friends who have seen them are amazed that they were not professionally done. They arrived before the promised date and were well packaged. I highly recommend this product.

Bah Humbug
They look good. They burn well. BUT, NOT for slot players. Got stuck in my car player and I had a devil of a time getting it out. Bring back the old Taiyo Yuden's. They were quality discs.
